The Old School RuneScape League V Raging Echoes is now live through January 22, 2025, giving players the opportunity to start in a fresh world and quickly level up and experience the game. This is a great opportunity for both new and returning players to have a lot of fun playing OSRS. We’ve put together this OSRS League V Raging Echoes Route and Beginner guide to assist players with planning out the early steps of this league.
Raging Echoes League Best Relic, Region Unlocks, and Combat Choices
It can be overwhelming to decide the Best Relics, Region Unlocks, and Combat Choices, especially if this is your first OSRS league. Most experienced players or guides will tell you “Choose what seems most useful or fun to you, there is no wrong answer!”. And while that is technically true, if you’re not familiar with how the systems in OSRS or specifically leagues work, that doesn’t do much for help getting you on the right path.
These are the best Relics, Area Unlocks, and Combat Choices for OSRS League V Raging Echoes and I assure you will get you through the entire league with ease. If you’re worried about making some sort of mistake with your choices throughout the league, stick to this guide and that will not be an issue.
Best Relics for all Tiers in Raging Echoes
Each Tier that you reach will give you access to two or three Relics to choose from, each with its own unique Effects that can make certain skills much easier or more efficient to level in the league. Here are the Relics we recommend you choose with each tier for the League V Raging Echoes:
- Tier 1: Animal Wrangler – While Power Miner is also a solid option, being able to quicky and easily have access to cooked food is simply a godsend for the Raging Echoes league, and the added bonus of Hunting perks push this relice ahead of the others.
- Tier 2: Dodgy Deals – Being able to mass Thieve while also getting guaranteed success makes this Relic invaluable. Gold will never be an issue once you hit Tier 2, which is a great boon to this league. Friendly Forager is also a great option as Herblore can be quite a pain to level without it, but we’re going to swing back and grab it with Reloaded in Tier 4.
- Tier 3: Clue Compass – A very useful mobility Relic, especially with being able to teleport you to your current clue step. Makes Slayer a lot more effecient by having this Relic as well, especially paired with Slayer Master.
- Tier 4: Reloaded then choosing Friendly Forager – This allows you to choose another earlier tier Relic, which we will use to pick Friendly Forager. The added benefits to Herblore and the Forager’s Pouch makes leveling Herblore, one of the more tedious skills, much easier.
- Tier 5: Slayer Master – Paired with Clue Compass, you can be an actual Slayer juggernaut. The agrument can certainly be made for Production Master here, but with the route we’re taking, you’ll get much more value out of Slayer Master.
- Tier 6: Banker’s Note – The ability to note and unnote anywhere in Gielinor is extremely useful, especially being able to do it in instanced content like Echo Bosses and other types of long and drawn out content like Colisseum.
- Tier 7: Grimoire – Access to all Prayers and Ancient Spellbooks is super handy even if you’re not going with Magic as your primary Combat choice. Pocket Kingdom is a very solid option if you for some reason don’t want to use Magic or Prayers at all for any reason, as Pocket Kingdom is very convenient as well.
- Tier 8: Last Stand – A 16 tick Cheat Death that boosts your stats to max, even with it draining down, is so powerful. You can use Last Stand intentinonally for massive damage boosts to make many bosses of all levels much more trivial.
Best Regions to Unlock
By default all players in the league have Karamja and Misthalin unlocked, and over the course of your progression, you’ll get to choose three more regions to unlock. Each region has skills that it excels at training, and some that aren’t great to level in. By going with the Relics we chose, we have selected three regions that will allow us to have options for leveling every skill in Old School RuneScape:
- Varlamore
- Morytania
- Fremennik
You’ll also have access to all Runes, a lot of Bosses, five Slayer Masters, and a handful of Boosted Minigames.
- Bosses: Abyssal Sire, Amoxliatl, Araxxor, Barrows, Dagannoth Kings, Duke Sucellus, Fight Caves, Fortist Colosseum, Grotesque Guardians, Hueycoatl, Inferno, Moons of Peril, Nightmare, Phanton Muspah, Scurrius, Theatre of Blood, Tormented Demons, Vardorvis, Vorkath
- Slayer Masters: Chaeldar, Duradel, Mazchna, Spria, Vannaka
- Boosted Minigames: Brimhaven Agility Arena, Fossil Chances on Fossil Island, Hallowed Marks, Mastering Mixology, Soul Wars, Tai Bwo Wannai Favour, Trouble Brewing, Volcanic Mine
Combat Mastery Choice
While you will end up leveling all combat types at least some, you will have to pick one to focus your Mastery on. With the Region unlocks and Relic choices we’ve made, we find Ranged combat to be the best Combat Mastery to go for with this route.
Raging Echoes Beginner Route and Task Checklist
For experienced players, you probably already have an idea of how to level each skill. Newer players on the other hand may have a hard time if they don’t understand the normal structure of leagues in Old School RuneScape, or the best ways to acheive certain tasks. This route follows the same Relic and Region choices as above so will slot in perfectly with progressing if you follow along. You’ll want to do any random events you encounter along the way.

- Head South and chop down a tree.
- Keep chopping trees until you hit Level 20 Woodcutting.

- Return to the Kitchen at Lumbridge Castle and talk to the Chef to get and complete the Cook’s Assistant quest.
- Head outside then down South to the fishing area east of the Lumbridge Swap. Fish up a Shrimp until your relic auto cooks one. Keep fishing until you reach about Level 30, catching a Herring, an Anchovy, and 25 Sardines.
- Spend at least five Prayer Points then go to the Altar and restore your Prayer points.

- Use the Fairy Ring and kill a Dark Wizard.
- Pet a dog.
- Buy an Iron, Mythril, and Addy weapon and equip them.
- Make 3 Soft Clay and put them in the bank. Grab a bucket and also put it in the bank.
- Gather 2 Rope and 10 Logs, put them in the bank as well.
- Buy a Chaos Rune Pack from Aubury.
- Minigame Teleport to Tzhaar Fight Arena. Visit the Tzhaar Ore shop.
- Buy 26 Copper Ore, 26 Tin Ore, and 20 Iron Ore.
- Teleport Home and make all Bronze Bars and 2 Iron Bars, then bank them. Smith the Bronze F. Helmet and Skirt.
- Head to the Store Rooms and Thieve them until you get Ruby or Diamond Amulet. Get 49/57 Magic.
- Go to Varrock and Pickpocket a Guard until you have 28 Guard Pouches, then open them.
- Buy Ele Staff Zavv, and slash a web in the Varrock Sewers.
- Steal from the Tea Stall.
- Get a Haircut near the Tea Stall.
- Buy and wear Steel Plate.
- Grab 10 Logs out of the bank and buy 10 Planks and 200 Steel Nails from the Sawmill as well as 5 Bolts of Cloth then bank it.
This should get you far enough along that you unlock your Tier 2 Relic, Dodgy Deals, which opens up a lot of possibility with the easy Thieving access with the powerful Relic!
