The best build for any companion, but especially Nautilus, is one focused on supporting its owner rather than acting as a mini-powerhouse. For Nautilus, we want to focus on mods that bring enemies together, then provide massive debuffs so you can kill them more easily. These mods will do just that for you:

• Manifold Bond
• Momentous Bond
• Seismic Bond

• Animal Instinct
• Assault Mode
• Regen

Cordon is the bread and butter of this build and comes with Nautilus. This mod causes the Nautilus to group enemies, which can make them easy prey for you. Mods like Manifold and Seismic Bond play into that nicely, causing several enemies to suffer plenty of status effects whether they’re hit with melee or shot by Nautilus. Other mods like Regen and Guardian help the survivability of both Nautilus and its owner.

You shouldn’t swap much up with this build but if you do want to build into Nautilus, you can upgrade both Regen and Animal Instinct into their Primed variants for a bit more effectiveness.
