Best Jiyan build in Wuthering Waves – weapons, Echoes, and team compositions

Awaken the true potential of the Dragon of Jinzhou.

Jiyan is both Jinzhou’s fearless protector and the best Aero DPS in Wuthering Waves, a title he earned given his high attack speed and damage potential while in Qingloong mode.

But although his pure damage will likely carry you early on, the leader of the Midnight Rangers will need a tailor-made build to show his best in the mid and late-game stages. To help all looking to take him one step further, here’s the best Jiyan build in Wuthering Waves.

Best Weapons for Jiyan

The best weapon for Jiyan in Wuthering Waves is his signature broadblade, Verdant Summit. The weapon is a perfect fit for him and will boost his Heavy Attack DMG by 24% after he performs his Intro Skill or Resonance Liberation (max of two stacks for a 48% increase). Verdant Summit will also boost his Aero DMG by 12% and offer a 48.6% increase in Crit DMG at level 90. All values are related to the weapon at Rank 1.

Best Alternatives

If you are like me and will skip his signature, the best weapon for Jiyan will be the Battle Pass-exclusive Autumntrace. The 4-star weapon will allow him to increase his ATK by 4% for each hit scored by Basic and Heavy Attacks (up to 20%). Autumntrace will also provide a 20% increase in Crit Rate once at level 90.

Using the Lustrous Razor can also work, as the 5-star will offer a good amount of ATK and a healthy boost in ER. To recap, here are the best weapons for Jiyan, as well as an extra pick:

WeaponMain SubstatWhy?
Verdant Summit (Best in Slot)Crit. DMGWill offer a high Aero DMG buff and a massive Heavy Attack DMG increase. Substat is also a plus, as Crit DMG is always welcome.
AutumntraceCrit. RateWill offer a great ATK boost while also helping you reach the desired Crit threshold.
Lustrous RazorATK%Will offer a good amount of ATK and a boost in ER.
Helios CleaverATK%Will offer a good boost in ATK.

Best Sonata and Echoes for Jiyan in Wuthering Waves

The best Sonata for Jiyan is a full Sierra Gale set. The set will provide him with a permanent 10% boost in Aero DMG and allow him to temporarily increase the buff by 30% after performing his Intro Skill.

For the Echoes, I recommend using Feilian Beringal as your main in a composition featuring one Overlord, two Elites, and two Common ones. Using Cyan-Feathered Heron in the main slot can also work given its ability to interrupt special attacks. Keep in mind that only Overlord and Calamity tier Echoes have access to the Crit main stats, so Beringal must be among your five no matter what.

Best Stats and Substats

For the main stats, go with Crit Rate, Aero DMG, and ATK%. For substats, focus on Crit Rate, Crit DMG, Heavy Attack DMG Bonus, Energy Regen, and ATK%. Try to get your Crit Rate to at least 60% for optimal damage.

Best Jiyan Team Compositions

The best team for Jiyan in Wuthering Waves features him as its on-field DPS and a Mortefi equipped with a full Moonlit Clouds Sonata as its sub-DPS/buffer. As no team is complete without a healer, we will use Verina or Baizhi in the role.

This team will revolve around using Mortefi’s Outro Skill to massively buff Jiyan’s damage. Using Aalto can also work if you don’t have Mortefi, as he can provide a 23% increase in Aero DMG Deepen. Lastly, Verina and Baizhi’s ability to offer an All-type DMG Deepen buff guarantees that Jiyan can do his job no matter the rotation.

Now that you know how to build Jiyan, I highly recommend that you check out the most recent codes for Wuthering Waves. After all, there’s no such thing as too many Astrite, am I right?
