Best immersion mods for Cyberpunk 2077

Lose yourself in Night City

Cyberpunk 2077 already offers some great opportunities for roleplaying, but with the help of a few mods, you can really lose yourself in the gritty glory of Night City.

The base game comes preloaded with amazing stories and top notch dialogue choices, but there’s also enough friction to stop it from being a truly sim-like experience. Digging through menus when you stop by your favorite bar, or losing sight of Night City’s skyline behind your minimap can pull you out and remind you that you’re still playing a game. Modders are a creative bunch though, and the best immersion mods for Cyberpunk 2077 will have you all but really believing you’re a Night City local.

Metro System

Plenty of fans were hoping to ride Night City’s metro line when the game initially released, but that never happened. Luckily, modders have created a metro system that’s fully functional, with first- and third-person views, and it’s accessible without a single loading screen. Driving through Night City’s streets is plenty of fun, but every once in a while it can be nice to sit back and appreciate the view of the city as the metro line makes its way from district to district.

Cosmopolitan Night City

Sometimes little touches are all you need to fully immerse yourself in a game. Cosmopolitan Night City, and its companion Cosmopolitan Dogtown, are simple but expansive mods that add some new life to Night City. The mod causes NPCs throughout the city to speak in a wide variety of languages, so you really get that “everywhere and nowhere” sensation that Night City is meant to evoke. As an added bonus, the mods also let V speak a variety of languages, which can add some nice flavor to your next roleplay-heavy playthrough.

HUD Improvement mods

One of the best ways to get immersed in the world of Cyberpunk 2077 is to hide as many gameplay elements as possible. The Limited HUD mod lets you configure your display, so you can see the city through entirely clear eyes. If you’re worried about getting lost in town without your trusty minimap, then the In-World Navigation mod has you covered. It adds helpful holographic arrows to your trusty Kiroshis, so you can find your way without dedicating a huge chunk of your screen to the map.

Survival System

Night City already feels like a place where you could actually live, and the Survival System mod makes that a reality. The mod adds energy, satiation, and hydration meters, and the lower those fall the more V’s stats like health recovery, jump height, and carry weight suffer. At long last, you’ll have a reason to use all the food and soda you’ve been carrying around for dozens of hours. The mod also increases the carry weight of consumables and makes a few other minor changes, but all of those are fully configurable in its settings.

Immersive Bartenders

Immersive Bartenders works perfectly with the Survival System mod and can seriously enhance your next Night City bar crawl. There are a handful of times in the base game where V actually holds their drink and gets to interact with it naturally, but most of the time if you go to a bar, you’re just interacting with menus. Immersive Bartenders fixes this and lets you really sink into the experience of hanging out at The Afterlife or your other favorite Night City haunts.

Immersive Food Vendors

Much like the bartenders mod, installing Immersive Food Vendors allows V to actually sit down and eat at Night City’s finest restaurants and food carts. The mod is a bit more restrictive in that V will only have a handful of options to snack on. You won’t be able to bust out your fanciest china for a sit down meal, but things like sandwiches, hotdogs, apples, and sushi are totally on the table. It’s another mod that makes a great companion to the Survival System.
