The Best Vanguards for Beginners in Marvel Rivals

The game’s tank class, a vanguard can either make or break a team. True to that, I consider Groot to be by far the most beginner-friendly in Marvel Rivals. The friendly giant pairs the game’s largest standard health pool with the ability to deal AoE damage, generate fixed shields, and self-heal within short intervals. His team-up move with Rocket, which allows the latter to ride on his shoulders is also a huge plus, as it allows you to go all out while having your healer by your side.

If you are looking for a more mobile pick, Venom can be a menace in all stages of the game, as his massive damage, high mobility, and self-heal while staying on the offense will not disappoint.

The Best Duelists for Beginners

If you are looking to pick the opposition apart through the flanks as a Duelist, the best for beginners is by far The Punisher. His ability to unload a whole arsenal on targets while having a deadly turret in his back call makes him the optimal choice.

If you prefer to get right into the action, however, Iron Fist can also be seen as a perfect entry point, as his ability to obliterate any non-Vanguards by closing in and performing his Yat Jee Chung Kuen combo will hone your fundamentals and leave many frozen on the spot. As an extra, he can also self-heal. His kit will make you feel right at home, so giving Star-Lord a try might also be worth it if you are a fan of Overwatch‘s Tracer.

The Best Strategists for Beginners

When looking to ace as a Strategist, the best for beginners in Marvel Rivals is Rocket Raccoon, who pairs his high mobility and straightforward playstyle with the ability to boost the damage of allies and revive those who fall. When in teams featuring either The Punisher or the Winter Soldier, his Ammo Invention Team-Up Ability will also allow you to give birth to a relentless offense.

As Rocket’s weakest point lies in his low healing output, Luna Snow will be my main pick for those looking for a less offensive-focused support. The reason for that? The way she can provide massive amounts of target-focused and self-healing. Her Dragon’s Chill Team-Up with Iron First is also a huge plus when the subject is creating space and setting up eliminations.
