Best Caesar King build in Zenless Zone Zero – Best Drive Discs, W-Engine, Bangboo, and team compositions

Show all the true might of a Overlord!

True to her fame, Caesar arrived to shift the Zenless Zone Zero meta by offering an unmatched series of buffs, all while being capable of applying Daze at the same level as some of the game’s top stun agents.

But given her status as a Defense unit, awakening her true potential will force players to go a little off the road. To help you show all the might of a true monarch, here’s the best Caesar King build in ZZZ, as well as a few teams sure to allow her to let loose.

The best W-Engines for Caesar in ZZZ

As expected, the best W-engine for Caesar in Zenless Zone Zero is her signature S-Ranker, Tusks of Fury. Tailor-made for her role as a support/stun-sub DPS, the engine will offer the same base ATK and Impact as Qingyi‘s Ice-Jade Teapot (713 + 18%) at level 60, all while boosting her shield strength by 30% and allowing her to buff the party’s DMG and Daze by 18 and 12% after either performing an Interrupt or a Perfect Dodge (at one star). In ZZZ, Interrupts can be performed by parrying enemy advances or by breaking their stances mid-attack.

If you don’t have our main pick, the best alternative for Caesar will be Quingy’s already-mentioned Ice-Jade Teapot. The engine will then be followed by Lycaon‘s The Restrained, as even though Caesar won’t have access to their Stun-exclusive passives, the amount of ATK and Impact offered by the engines will more than makeup for it.

Best F2P W-Engine for Caesar

The best F2P W-engine for Caesar is Anby‘s Demara Battery Mark II. A Stun-engine like our two S-Rank alternatives, the A-Ranker will shine by providing a higher ATK when compared to the others of its class at level 60 (625), all while also providing a 15% Impact increase.

But what about the Original Transmorpher?

I don’t recommend using the Original Transmorpher for Caesar, as the way Barrier of Resilience will only scale with her base impact will drastically lower its effect compared to our main F2P pick. The engine’s 16% Impact boost at five stars will also only allow it to offer an identical boost to Demara Battery Mark II when the subject is on-field Daze.

Best Drive Discs for Caesar in Zenless Zone Zero

Thanks to her massive utility and how her ATK buff uptime will be linked to her shield, the best drive disc compositions for Caesar will change based on which of her strengths you wish to emphasize. For example, the best set for those looking to maximize her power as a Stun-focused sub-DPS will be a 4-piece Shockstar Disco paired with a 2-piece Proto Punk.

On the other hand, if you plan on increasing her supporting potential or use her with a Stun unit, a 4-piece Proto Punk paired with a 2-piece Shockstar Disco will be the best. Lastly, if using Caesar in an Anomaly-focused team featuring Jane, going with a 4-piece Freedom Blues paired with a 2-piece Proto Punk will be perfect. You can check out what each of the mentioned drive disc sets brings to the table below:

Drive Disc Set2-Piece Effect4-Piece Effect
Shockstar Disco+6% ImpactIncreases the Daze inflicted by Basic Attacks, Dodge Counters, and Dash Attacks by 20%.
Woodpecker Electro+8% Crit RateLanding Crits with either Basic Attacks, Dodge Counters, or an EX Special Attack boosts the wielder’s attack by 9%. Can stack three times with each skill being able to trigger one.
Proto Punk+15% Shield EffectAfter any agent triggers an Interruption or a Defensive Assist, all team members gain a 15% DMG boost for 10 seconds.
Freedom Blues+30 Anomaly ProficiencyEX Special Attack hits will reduce the enemy’s anomaly buildup resistance against the wielder’s attribute by 20%. The debuff will last for eight seconds.

As Impact will be the most important stat for Caesar, I recommend that you go with it for your sixth disc, while going with Physical DMG Bonus for the fifth one. For the fourth disc, go with Crit Rate to maximize her damage. Regarding substats, focus on Crit Rate and DMG until you reach the recommended 50/100%+ threshold.

Best Caesar teams in Zenless Zone Zero

Thanks to her all-rounder playstyle and ability to take the damage of all of its DPSs to new heights, Caesar can fit any composition in ZZZ like a glove. Among them. however, a few set themselves apart. Here are the best team compositions for Caesar in Zenless Zone Zero:

  • Soldier 11 + Caesar + Lucy: The best Soldier 11 team in the game. Will revolve around using Caesar as a support/Stun sub-DPS. Lucy will then work as a secondary buffer and boost the team’s ability to trigger Burn. Using Koleda as your sub-DPS and Caesar in the support slot can also work.
  • Jane Doe + Seth + Caesar: Jane’s BIS team. Makes use of Caesar’s buff to take her damage to the stars while having in Seth a great Anomaly-focused support.
  • Zhu Yuan + Qingyi + Caesar: Zhu Yuan’s BIS team. Has in Qingyi a massive source of Daze and in Caesar’s buffs and ability to group enemies a guarantee our DPS’s Ultimate and enhanced shots will obliterate enemies. Can also work by using Caesar as its stun unit and Nicole or Lucy as supports.
  • Ellen Joe + Caesar + Soukaku: Caesar will take on Lycaon’s role as the team’s stun sub-DPS, while massively boosting Ellen’s DMG.
  • Corin/Nekomata or Billy + Lycaon/Anby + Caesar: Variations of standard physical teams revolving around Cunning Hares or Victoria Housekeeping agents, both focused on boosting your damage while keeping your DPS shielded.
  • Piper + Grace + Caesar: A variation of Piper’s best team. Caesar will allow you to take Piper’s Assault and Disorder DMG to new heights while Grace will enable the latter at record time.

What Bangboo should you choose?

As Caesar won’t be the driving force in any of her teams, your Bangboo of choice must instead be a good fit for its main DPS. True to that, when using Fire teams, Rocketboo will be my main pick, while Sharkboo and Bangvolver will be the best for Ice and pure Physical ones. When using any of the anomaly-focused teams above, I recommend using Plugboo to increase your ability to trigger Disorder.
