The best Aalto build in Wuthering Waves – weapons, Echoes, and team compositions

Get your sunglasses ready.

By far one of the most fun characters to use in Wuthering Waves, Aalto’s 23% Aero DMG Deepen Outro Skill buff also sets him apart as the game’s best Aero-focused support.

But as not everything is perfect, his low damage output and inability to generate energy like the game’s top tiers will demand the use of a very specific build and team. To help you bring a second wind to your team, here’s the best Aalto build in Wuthering Waves.

The best weapons for Aalto in Wuthering Waves

With a name that fits him perfectly, the 5-star Static Mist is the best weapon for Aalto in Wuthering Waves. The pistol is by far the best in the game and will offer both a 24.3% Crit Rate increase at lv90 and a 12.8% Energy Regen boost. The weapon will also increase Aalto’s performance as a support by allowing him to buff the ATK of the character taking the field after him by 10%.

Although not recommended for most, given the game’s lack of a pistol top-tier main DPS, you can get Static Mist for free by selecting it as your 5-star Weapon Supply Chest pick. Additionally, you can get the 5-star Weapon Supply Chest by reaching Union Level 45 and then claiming it on the Awakening Journey event page.

Best 4-star weapons for Aalto

The best 4-star weapon for our support Aalto build is Cadenza. The weapon takes the spot thanks to its Energy Regen substat and how it allows him to get Concerto Energy at 20-second intervals. Even if not that impressive at first sight, Cadenza will allow you to counter two of Aalto’s weaknesses and improve how he behaves in fast rotations.

If our main picks are not an option for you, the best weapon for Aalto will be Novaburst. The weapon shines by allowing him to get up to 12% extra ATK by dodging and dashing. For F2P players, the craftable Pistols#26 will be my main pick.

Best Sonata and Echoes for Aalto

As our Aalto build is focused on increasing his supporting potential to the maximum, the best Sonata for him is a full Moonlit Clouds. The set is the universal best for offensive supports/sub-DPSs and will offer him a 10% Energy Regen boost. Most importantly, the set will allow him to offer a 22.5% ATK increase to the character taking the field after him.

Echo-wise, go with Impermanence Heron as your main, given its Resonance Energy generation passive and ability to add a 12% all-damage buff to Aalto’s Outro Skill.

Best stats and substats

As he can deal decent damage with both his Mist Bullets and Resonance Liberation, I recommend going with Crit Rate or Crit DMG for your main echo. The latter only if using a Crit Rate weapon. For the remaining spots, go with Energy Regen, Aero DMG Bonus, and an ATK% pair. If using an ER weapon, go with pairs of Aero DMG Bonus and ATK.

Substat-wise, prioritize Crit Rate (no matter your weapon of choice), Crit DMG, ATK, and ER. Like with most characters. try to get his Crit Rate to any value above 50% for consistent damage. This is vital, as you might need to perform a few basic and heavy attacks to maximize your damage while he is on the field.

Are Aalto’s Resonance Sequences a must?

For those looking to use Aalto in his best role, I recommend aiming for his first sequence node, Trickster’s Opening Show. The node will lower the cooldown of his Resonance Skill by 4 seconds, thus boosting his ability to gather energy. His other sequences are all damage-related and should only be pursued by those looking to use him as a DPS.

Best Teams for Aalto in Wuthering Waves

Thanks to his Aero buff, the best team for Aalto features him as its offensive support, Jiyan as its main DPS, and either Verina or Baizhi as its healer. As all of the game’s remaining Aero resonators —including Aalto himself— are unable to perform well in the main DPS role, this is the only end-game team where he can excel at the moment.
