Seven years. That’s how long it’s taken for someone to pick up the MechWarrior franchise and start working again. That “someone” is developers Piranha Games, along with Smith and Tinker, who have revealed they’re working on a franchise re-boot.
A re-boot of the franchise means this won’t be MechWarrior 5, instead they’re opting to go the more creative route — it’ll simply be called MechWarrior. The title is in development for the Xbox 360 and PC, and with no publisher stepping up to claim the title yet, there isn’t a release date set in stone.
IGN has the exclusive on the first information about the game, as well as some early images of the title. Any MechWarrior fans happy to see the series’ return?
