DON’T NOD, developer of Life is Strange, Vampyr, and Tell Me Why has announced that its latest title, Banishers: Ghosts of New Eden, will be delayed. Initially, the studio planned a November 7, 2023 release date.
The new date for Banishers pushes it to February 13, 2024, and the delay includes all platforms. According to DON’T NOD, it’s a strategic move to avoid a busy season of heavy hitters.
“We have decided to postpone the release of this new franchise by three months, as the market is experiencing an intense release cycle for AAA titles on PC and consoles at the end of the year,” said Oskar Guilbert, CEO of DON’T NOD, and John Bert, managing director of Focus Entertainment, in a joint statement. “We are convinced that a commercial release of Banishers: Ghosts of New Eden during a less saturated period will give it the attention it deserves.”
Last July, DON’T NOD announced its initial release date for Banishers: Ghosts of New Eden’s along with the first trailer. In the game, we “play as Antea Duarte and Red mac Raith, lovers and Banishers—ghost-hunters who vowed to protect the living from the threat of lingering ghosts and specters,” according to a trailer description. The game will be available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and PC.
