Trying to figure out which units to roll for in Ball Tower Defense’s various banners can be confusing. Not only are there a lot of units, but in some cases lower rarity units can be better than higher ones. I’m here to show you the best units in the game and rank them in my Ball Tower Defense unit tier list.
Ball Tower Defense Unit Tier List And Trade Values
It’s important to note that in Ball Tower Defense, Omega units are drastically stronger than any other rarity so I’ll put them in a special SSS tier of their own. Then, I’ll rank units from S to E-Tier where the top two Tiers S and A are must-haves in your loadout. B-Tier are all-around great options that just lack the raw power of higher Tiers. Lastly, C, D, and E are for beginners and I would Reforge these for Gems once you get units from the higher tiers. Speaking of Gems, I’m also including Trade Values for units so keep an eye on those.
SSS Tier BTD Units

| Golem (Omega Exclusive) | The peak of BTD units stat-wise and the strongest unit in the game. While it’s just slightly behind Omega Knight on AOE DPS it also has incredible Melee damage making it highly flexible. This is the meta. | Gems: 850k-1m Coins: 90m-100m Demand: 10 |
| MechaBall (Omega) | I’m putting MechaBall second because it’s incredibly effective on placement and is easy to max out, making it arguably the best starter out of SSS units. Also those Missiles going up to 3 million damage is no joke. | Gems: 850k-900k Coins: 85m – 90m Demand: 10 |
| Omega Knight (Omega Exclusive) | The highest AOE damage in the game at 750k so if that’s what you’re after, this the best unit in the game for AOE. | Gems: 750k-800k Coins: 75m-80m Demand: 8 |
| VoidBall (Omega) | The Jester is similar to the Golem unit in terms of its role, with lower damage but also cheaper upgrades and better speed and range making it an excellent alternative. | Gems: 500k Coins: 50m+ Demand: 9 |
| TheFrozenOne (Omega) | Incredibly strong crowd-control tower for both damage and utility. DPS is lower in some cases than the other Omegas but it makes up for it in special effects. | Gems: 800k Coins: 80m Demand: 8 |
| Jester (Transcendent) | The Jester is similar to the Golem unit in terms of its role with lower damage but also cheaper upgrades and better speed and range making it an excellent alternative. | Gems: 200k-220k Coins: 20m-22m Demand: 7/10 |
| BlizzardBall (Transcendent) | Even though it’s weaker than usual for Transcendents, it’s still got massively better stats than any Mythic or Legendary so it’s just barely in S-Tier. | Gems: 320k Coins: 32m Demand: 8/10 |
S Tier BTD Units

| Boulder (Mythic) | I love the Boulder for its incredible AOE damage and range. You’ll have to get used to it blocking your other units though. | Gems: 30k Coins: 3m Demand: 9/10 |
| Chef (Legendary) | Another excellent farming unit. If you don’t have GoldenMonkey, this is a must-have. | Gems: 150 Coins: 15k Demand: 4 |
| KingBall (Mythic Exclusive) | With a fully upgraded KingBall you’ll be summoning tons of units which is great utility for higher difficulties. | Gems: 12k Coins: 1.2m Demand: 6/10 |
| VirusBall (Mythic) | The VirusBall is a quick way to get great DPS early and in an affordable way since it’s a cheaper placement than other Mythicals and has low cost upgrades. | Gems: 7.5k Coins: 750k Demand: 5/10 |
| FancyBall (Awesome) | The higher rarity farming units are better, but if you don’t have them then this is a must-have unit and that makes it S Tier. | / |

| MiniBaller (Legendary) | Another single-target DPS powerhouse with the added benefit of piercing units so proper placement matters a bit more than other single-target DPS units. | Gems: 300 Coins: 30k Demand: 7/10 |
| Piercer (Legendary Exclusive) | Another single-target DPS powerhouse with the added benefit of piercing units, so proper placement matters a bit more than other single-target DPS units. | Gems: 250 Coins: 25k Demand: 6/10 |

| GiantBall (Legendary) | GiantBall has some of the best AOE range among Legendaries and decent damage but it’s definitely a weaker legendary option. | Gems: 90 Coins: 9k Demand: 2/10 |
| FrostAngel (Mythic) | FrostAngel has weaker DPS than Slicer, so it’s a bit sad for a Mythic but it still deals great damage and has a great crowd-control effect, so it’s still worthy for A-Tier. | Gems: 13k-16k Coins: 1.3m-1.6m Demand: 5/10 |
B Tier BTD Units

| Partyman (Legendary) | Some of the weakest legendaries are found here in B-Tier but they’re still Legendaries so their superb stats are still worthwhile to use if you don’t have better ones. | Gems: 150 Coins: 15k Demand: 3/10 |
| Turkey (Legendary) | Turkey and DartMonkey are nothing special but they’ll still compete with most Awesome units either as cheap starters or DPS. | Gems: 500 Coins: 50k Demand: 6/10 |

| AutumnBall (Mythic) | I absolutely detest AutumnBall as it’s not only the weakest Mythic but loses to some Legendaries as well. It probably shouldn’t be this low among Awesome units but I couldn’t resist. | Gems: 25k-30k Coins: 2.5m-3m Demand: 6/10 |
| DartMonkey (Legendary) | See Turkey. | Gems: 100 Coins: 10k Demand: 1 |
| PrincessBall (Legendary) | Farming units are must-haves in the game but PrincessBall generates so little Money on hit that any other farm unit is better. Still, she’s still worthwhile for B-Tier if you don’t have other farm units. | Gems: 150 Coins: 15k Demand: 6/10 |
| VenomousBall (Awesome) | Excellent Awesome option for Poison effects which are better than burns and VenomousBall has decent DPS sa well. | / |
| Skateboarder (Awesome) | While it’s not the best DPS for Awesome units, its summon cooldown can get really good with upgrades. | / |
| Knight (Awesome) | Has some great DPS in terms of Awesome units but requires upgrades to get going. | / |
| LaserBall (Awesome) | One of the best Awesome Pierce DPS units if you can manage those expensive upgrades. | / |
| PowerArmorBall (Awesome) | Manages incredible damage of up to 50k at max upgrade but is slower than other Awesome DPS units and doesn’t have the best range. | / |
| FrozenBall (Rare) | While FrozenBall can’t compete DPS-wise in B-Tier, I still included it cause it’s such a great support with that slow. | / |
C Tier BTD Units
| Name | Ranking Explanation |
| DemonBall (Awesome) | While the Burn damage is nice and outranks Rare units, DemonBall can’t compete that well with other Awesome units so it’s in C-Tier. |
| RockBall (Rare Exclusive) | While it has lower range, it’s one of the best Rare DPS units. |
| Backpacker (Rare) | Want some cheap Pierce with decent DPS that’s great right from placement? Backpacker is for you. |
| BoxerBall (Rare) | An excellent beginner unit for good DPS. |
| Sniper Ball (Rare) | The problem with Sniper is that while it has good damage, it’s so slow and it’s upgrades are quite expensive. |
| BuildersClubBall (Rare) | One of the best Rare support units but I prefer the FrozenBall. Still, the builder can stall units well in the mid-game, just don’t start with him. |
| DaGrungy (Rare) | DaGrungy is not the strongest Rare unit but he can be quite useful utility wise for summoning and farming. |
| FlameBall (Rare) | Just a reliable Burn unit that’s not as good as the DemonBAll but still fine for beginner’s. |
| BeachBall (Odd) | The Odd unit in the game that can compete with some Rares. You just need to upgrade it twice to get it going. |
| BombBall (Awesome) | The only thing BombBall does well in this game is troll people when you send it to them as a gift. |
| PeasantBall (Rare) | One of the weakest farm units but still, farm is good if you don’t have other options. |
| Slinger (Rare) | One of the best Rare DPS options if you manage to get it going since it’s bad on placement. |
| MilitaryBall (Rare) | Similar to Slinger, can output some excellent damage among Rares but its expensive upgrades make it slow to start off. |
| Noob (Rare) | You can start off quite well with Noobs if you don’t have better rares since they’re quire cheap and decent on placement. |
D Tier BTD Units

| Ball2.0 (Odd) | A cheap Odd unit that’s good as a starter but nothing special. |
| Monkey (Rare) | It’s okay in terms of DPS but many Rares outclass it so I’m putting it in D-Tier. |
| GrassMan (Rare) | Not the best DPS but has great AOE range which doesn’t quite manage to rank it in C-Tier. |
| Grug (Odd) | As you’ll see with Odd units, they’re mediocre and Grug is no different. Use them until you get better units and then dump them. |
| PoliceBall (Odd) | Great as far as Odd units go with Pierce and okay DPS. |
| ElectricBall (Normie) | The best Normie unit in the game with great DPS for beginner’s. |
| SurvivorBall (Odd) | Meh. |
E Tier BTD Units
| Name | Ranking Explanation |
| OldBall (Odd) | Low DPS and low range, I mean it’s an old ball, what did you expect. |
| Ball (Normie) | It’s a ball. |
| FireBall (Normie) | You’ll get better units from your first chests but this will help you fill out your roster in your first few games. |
| IceBall (Normie) | Actually works decently in your first few games as a great support. |
| PoisonBall (Normie) | You can do better. |
