ARK: Survival Evolved has added some variety to its tropical, Jurassic Park-with-no-guardrails, vibe in its latest update. Two new biomes, including a snow covered, mountainous tundra filled with huge direwolves and towering mammoths, as well as a festering swamp riddled with giant frogs have been added to the game.

These new areas bring fresh survival challenges to overcome, such as “not freezing to death” and “holy crap, I need to run away from this horrible frog monster RIGHT NOW.” Given my personal track record of somehow managing to starve or freeze to death in the middle of a tropical paradise, I’m guessing my adventures in these new areas will be nasty, brutish, and short. Wouldn’t have it any other way.
