Are EA FC 25 evolutions broken? EA Sports finally responds in community post

In case you don’t know yet, EA FC 25 is having some massive issues with Evolutions in Ultimate Team, and EA Sports doesn’t appear to know how to fix the problems immediately.

It has been over a week since the community received an evolution that lets you upgrade one of your gold/silver/bronze items. While the community took notice immediately, it has taken a week for EA Sports to officially acknowledge that evolutions aren’t working out in the intended fashion. Sadly, there’s no ETA about when things might return to normal.

EA FC 25 Evolutions stat bug explained

A few months before EA FC 25 launched, EA Sports announced that evolutions would undergo a significant change. To ensure that more cards can be evolved, stat caps were introduced. While you can use items that don’t necessarily match the requirements, the upgrades will be inferior. This system was introduced to ensure there won’t be broken meta cards early in the year.

The same system has become the bane of trouble. I remember seeing incidents of Joe Gomez getting the wrong stats once his evolution was complete. Based on the post in the official forum, the issue this time seems to be around The Cannon evolution. As reported in the thread, several users are unable to use a card in the evolution even if it meets all the requirements.

EA_Pulsar from the community team has commented the following to address the situation.

It’s unclear when the situation surrounding the broken Evolutions in EA FC 25 will be fixed. Personally, the changes made to evolutions feel wonderful, but only when they work as intended. There’s not much to say or write about the recent New Foundation Evolutions, which are extremely limited in scope.
