You’d really, really have to like the Metal Gear Solid series and its 4th game to spend the $10,100 it would cost to bid on this eBay item, but you don’t have to be a fan at all to appreciate the work that went into this mod.

Morpheon Mods is responsible for the custom work on this PlayStation 3. It features a laser-cut MGS4 marquee, hand-brushed metal accents, a laser etching of Solid Snake, nine coats of DuPont Chroma Clear clearcoat, and the signatures of Hideo Kojima and Naomi Hunter’s real-life model, Yumi Kikuchi. Damn.

Shut off the lights, and this thing glows with awesomeness from its 15 white micro LEDs. Even the controller is custom, and the system is packed with rare MGS collectibles. Finally, the system is a 60GB PS3, so you can play the old MGS PS2 games on it, too.

If that’s not enough, 15% of the proceeds go to the Child’s Play charity. At over $10k, Child’s Play will see a nice chunk, and there’s still five days left on the auction!
