All Zenless Zone Zero Attribute Anomalies

All characters in Zenless Zone Zero have an Attribute that is the root element of their kit. This can be Electric, Physical, Ice, Fire, or Ether. Depending on that Attribute, they can build up the element on enemies, and when it hits a certain level, that will cause the overall Attribute Anomaly to kick in.

ElementActivationDebuff
ElectricWhen enough Electrical build-up occurs, it causes Shock.Shocked enemies will chain damage to other enemies intermittently and interrupts the enemy’s actions. Machine enemies can’t move at all while Shocked.
EtherWhen enough Ether build-up occurs, it causes Corruption.Corruption causes attacked enemies to take more Ether damage and also confuses enemies, meaning they can attack their own allies.
FireWhen enough Fire build-up occurs, it causes Burn.Burn will do damage over time, and organic enemies cannot move when they are Burning.
IceWhen enough Ice build-up occurs, it causes Freeze and Frostbite.Ice causes both Freeze and Frostbite. Freeze will stop enemies moving, and ends with Shatter that deals AoE Ice damage. Frostbite will increase crit damage that a target takes.
PhysicalWhen enough Physical build-up occurs, it causes Assault.Assault will deal tremendous physical damage to enemies, and will also increased their Daze level.

There are two very important character stats regarding Attribute Anomalies: Anomaly Mastery and Anomaly Proficiency.

  • Anomaly Mastery – the higher this stat, the faster build-up will occur.
  • Anomaly Proficiency – the higher this stat, the more damage will be dealt with by the Anomaly when it happens.

If you combine two characters with the same Attributes in your squad, you can focus one of them on Anomaly Mastery to build the element up quickly, then switch to the one with high Proficiency to trigger it with a lot of damage.

Taking advantage of Distortion

Distortion is a result of combining two different Attribute types. While this might seem like a bad idea at first, it overrides the initial build-up and instead switches to Distortion, which will cause damage when fully built up and also causes more Daze. Daze is a very powerful state in the game, as enemies are open to any kind of attack, and you can do powerful chain attacks by taking advantage of your heavy attacks with ease.

It is also worth reading up on the different fighting styles in the game, as that can be quite important when thinking about how to get the most out of each Attribute.
