Starfield‘s universe is unbelievably vast, and during your adventures, you’ll find yourself encountering lots of strange phenomena. You’ll be protected from many dangers in your spacesuit, but this doesn’t mean you’ll be able to avoid all status afflictions. Fortunately, most of them can be cured easily, though it’s not always obvious what you should do.
This guide will explain all status conditions and how to heal them in Starfield.
All status afflictions in Starfield
It is possible to have multiple status afflictions, leaving you with several debuffs. To see what status affliction you’re suffering from, open up your menu and look to the right of your character. Open the Status Effects tab to see the prognosis. This simply tells you how severe the problem is, and the affliction can either be Poor, Stable, Good, or Excellent.
Here are the afflictions to look out for:
- Broken bones – If you see a blue sign, you may have broken bones. Torn Muscles, Sprains, Fractured Skulls, Fractured Limbs, and Dislocated Limbs.
- Infections – You can find yourself afflicted with infections such as pneumonia. You’ll know you’re infected because there’ll be a purple pill sign next to your character in the main menu.
- Injuries – A yellow sign indicates you’re afflicted with one or more of the following conditions: Brain Injury, Concussion, Heatstroke, Hernia, Hypothermia, Lung Damage, Poisoning, Radiation Poisoning.
- Minor wounds – If you have minor wounds, you’ll see a red bandage sign. Status afflictions that trigger this include Contusions, Lacerations, and Puncture Wounds.
- Temperature effects – Afflictions in this category include Frost Bite, Blisters, and Burns. They’re indicated by an orange sign with drops on it.
How to cure status afflictions in Starfield
If you find yourself burdened by a status affliction, head back to your spaceship. Sleeping for a few hours will clear quite a few status afflictions. You should also save any Panacea, as it cures most status afflictions. Specific conditions can be cured with the following items:
- Broken bones – Immobilizer
- Infections – Antibiotics, Penicillin X
- Injuries – Injector, Snake Oil
- Minor wounds – Bandages, Zipper Bandages
- Temperature effects – Heal Gel, Heal Paste
To quickly heal all status afflictions, see a doctor. You can find one in New Atlantis if you visit The Well, though you’ll have to pay for the doctor’s services. Grabbing the Decontamination and Cell Regeneration skills from the Physical skill tree section will also help you beat afflictions.
