How to discover all Planetary Traits

To make things easier for yourself, invest in Astrophysics skills which can be found under the Science skill tree. This will allow you to scan moons and planets even when you aren’t orbiting them.

You’ll get the following perks from the Astrophysics skills with each rank:

  1. You can scan the moons of your current planet. You have a 10% chance to discover a trait when scanning.
  2. You can scan any planet or moon in this system. You have a 20% chance to discover a trait when scanning.
  3. You can scan any planet or moon within 16 Light Years. You have a 30% chance to discover a trait when scanning.
  4. You can scan any planet or moon within 30 Light Years. You have a 50% chance to discover a trait when scanning.
