Get ready to grind many matches
Modern Warfare 2 has its latest limited-time event going on this season. The MW2 Trophy Hunt event tasks players with getting as many trophies as they possibly can. Trophies act as a currency by which players can unlock various rewards, ranging from XP tokens to even a couple of free operator skins.
All MW2 Trophy Hunt rewards
In total, there are 20 rewards available in the MW2 Trophy Hunt event. The best part about all of this is that they are all totally free. You don’t even have to own the premium version of the Season 3 Battle Pass to obtain these rewards.
Here are all 20 of the items you can get for free through this event, and how many trophies they cost to unlock:
- Spade Sunset emblem: 15 trophies
- Enhanced Vision calling card: 15 trophies
- Double XP token: 15 trophies
- Double Battle Pass XP token: 30 trophies
- 1 tier skip: 30 trophies (there are two of these)
- Betrayed loading screen: 30 trophies
- Mud Skirt vehicle skin: 30 trophies
- Woodie vehicle skin: 30 trophies
- Valeria’s Stare loading screen: 30 trophies
- Bleed Out weapon sticker: 30 trophies
- A Plan Forms loading screen: 30 trophies
- Trophy Hunter weapon charm: 30 trophies
- The Viper’s Pistol emblem: 30 trophies
- Track and Kill gun screen: 60 trophies
- Night Sting battle rifle weapon camo: 120 trophies

How to quickly obtain trophies in this event
Trophies are the digital event currency you need to unlock all of the above items. You get trophies from enemies nearly every time that they die. You don’t even necessarily have to eliminate someone yourself to see their trophies drop.
The best way to obtain trophies the fastest is to do larger eliminations-focused game modes like MW2 Ground War and Team Deathmatch. You’ll see plenty of trophies drop in these modes, so all you need to do is run over them to collect them before someone else does a la the dog tags in Kill Confirmed.
The only limitation of this method is that matches usually limit how many trophies you can obtain in a single match. For instance, in Ranked Play matches where I’ve been grinding, you can only get six trophies per match. If you want enough trophies to at least obtain the two event-exclusive operator skins, you’ll need to spend 435 trophies to get both of them, or approximately 73 matches worth of trophies. And that’s only if you opt for the cheapest Trophy Hunt rewards.
If you want to get all 20 items, though, you’ll have to spend a whopping 1,705 trophies. You’ll have to act fast, though, as this event is only sticking around for a short time in Season 3.
