Lands End has four hidden treasure chests to uncover, and they’re pretty spread out. In fact, you may easily miss one of them on your first run through, even if you have a Signal Ring equipped. There are some fairly obtuse puzzles and jumps you have to figure out to find these chests, so let’s dive in and explain how to grab these goodies.

#1: At the entrance

Right at the start of the area, you’ll see a cannon that will launch you over the cliff immediately in front of you. However, you’ll notice a platform rising and falling that serves seemingly no purpose. Jump on it, and wait for it to reach the apex of its possible height. Hold Up on the joystick or D-pad and jump off. If done right, you’ll reveal a Flower.

Yes, despite how the image above may look, the treasure chest is not right above the platform. This is why you’ll need to jump off the platform to actually hit it.

#2: The next cannon

The second hidden chest is right in the next area beyond the entrance. You’ll see another cannon in front of you, but if you jump up as shown in the picture above, you’ll uncover a hidden platform. This technically isn’t necessary, but it will kind of clue you in on how to get the next chest.

Jump in the cannon, but don’t launch yourself totally forward just yet. Landing in that hole will make three enemies jump out. There’s nothing wrong with this, you just don’t necessarily need to aggro all of them. Instead, aim the cannon as its facing forward, but not totally tilted that way. You should land on the revealed platform or the ground leading to that pit.

Jump up right on the edge of that pit, and you’ll reveal another hidden platform. Run back to the cannon, and now fire away once its fully tilted forward. You’ll land on that second platform instead of the pit.

Once you land on it, you’ll have the ability to jump on that L-shaped ledge you otherwise had no way to get to. There’s an obvious treasure here, but on the other side of that L, you’ll find the hidden chest.

#3: By the flowers

Keep advancing through Lands End, and you’ll find a greener area with a save block you can hit. Move right, and you’ll see a row of flowers you can step on. The hidden chest is between the second and third flowers. Jump up on the second one and leap towards the third to reveal this one easily.

#4: In the cave

Follow the path on the right side of the previous screen, and you’ll come to the underside of a sky bridge. While it doesn’t seem like there’s anything to do here, you’ll see a cave on the wall to the left. Jump up and enter into it. It may take a few jumps to actually land your way in there.

Once you’re inside, follow the one real path forward and look towards the top corner of the area. Jump up and you’ll reveal a chest containing a Frog Coin.

Definitely make sure you keep progressing down this optional path, though. You’ll find yourself in a familiar area where you can finally grab a chest that’s been out of reach all this time. Get all that good treasure!
