All Destiny 2 Strand Aspects announced

Discover all of Destiny 2's dozen-or-so Strand Aspects.

Destiny 2‘s Aspects are essentially unique ability/kit modifiers that can define a Guardian’s niche within their specific subclass. Introduced with the Stasis Darkness subclass as part of theĀ Beyond LightĀ DLC and subsequently expanded to the game’s Solar, Void, and Arc subclasses as part of the Light 3.0 update, it was a given that the same feature would also be available with Strand abilities featured in theĀ Lightfall DLC. As one would expect, there’s a bunch to choose from, though most of them aren’t available across the board, for all Guardian classes.

Instead, Aspects are often dedicated to specific classes to keep them distinctive, yet flexible enough to tackle a wide variety of situations.Ā Destiny 2‘s Strand Aspects often lean into the characters’ mobility and enhance it accordingly. Since the delightful grappling hook is a defining feature of Strand, it’s not hard to see why Bungie would go into this direction. Find all ofĀ Destiny 2‘s Strand Aspects featured below!

All Destiny 2 Strand Aspects

As part of theĀ Lightfall DLC and several subsequent content releases, Bungie has amassed a number of unique Strand Aspects for each of the three Guardian classes. These are as follows:

  • Titan – Drengr’s Lash: Activating the class ability creates a damaging ripple in reality that travels forward and suspends affected targets.
  • Titan – Flechette Storm: Activating the charged melee ability while sliding launches the Titan into the air, knocking down nearby targets and dealing damage. While mid-air, Titans can activate melee again to launch clusters of unraveling projectiles.
  • Titan – Into the Fray: Destroying a Tangle or casting the Titan Super grants Woven Mail to all nearby allies. While Woven Mail is active, your melee regeneration is increased.
  • Warlock – Mindspun Invocation: Warlocks’ Strand grenades get enhanced functionality
  • Warlock – The Wanderer: Threadling final blows generate Tangles. Created Tangles attach to targets and detonate via suspending bursts.
  • Warlock – Weaver’s Call: Casting Rift spawns three Threadlings. Perched Threadlings get deployed.
  • Hunter – Ensnaring Slam: Activating the Hunter’s air move consumes class ability energy to dive into the ground, suspending all nearby targets on impact. Using Ensnaring Slam increases the class ability cooldown.
  • Hunter – Threaded Specter: Activating the Hunter’s evade ability leaves behind a Strand decoy that detonates when enemies approach, releasing Threadlings.
  • Hunter – Widow’s Silk: Adds an additional grenade charge. Using the grappling hook weaves a Grapple Tangle at the grapple point.

Destiny 2 Season 22 Strand Aspects

Bungie launched three all-new Strand Aspects as part of Destiny 2‘s Season of the Witch. Each of the three Guardian classes gets access to a specific Aspect, allowing them to tune their Strand focus in exciting new ways:

  • Titan – Banner of War: Defeating a target with a melee attack, finisher, or Sword weapon raises a Banner of War that heals nearby allies and increases melee and Sword damage. Defeating targets while close to a Banner increases the speed of its pulses.
  • Warlock – Weavewalk: While in the weave, Warlocks passively generate perched Threadlings.
  • Hunter – Whirling Maelstrom: Destroying a generated Tangle spawns a damaging mass of Strand fibers on its location, which seeks out and destroys targets. Targets destroyed by the Strand mass generate Unraveling projectiles on death.

Players should note that these are available for purchase from the Pouka pond on Neptune, and they’re not a particularly huge investment.

Will Destiny 2: The Final Shape Have New Strand Aspects?

Finally, it’s worth highlighting the fact that, for theĀ Final Shape DLC, Bungie has seemingly decided to lean heavily into the Light side of the Guardian ability equation. Specifically, there are new Supers and abilities coming to Solar Warlocks, Void Titans, and Arc Hunters, greatly enhancing their kit variety. Strand and its Aspects, as well as the entirety of Stasis, have seemingly been left by the wayside for the DLC itself.

It is, however, highly likely that more abilities, Supers, and Aspects for both Strand and Stasis will be dropping in post-DLC, so fans of Darkness subclasses shouldn’t despair. This page will be updated accordingly as soon as Bungie publishes more information on these features!
