The Castle cabaret club has plenty of girls to romance in Like a Dragon Gaiden, including the one and only Ai. Whether you went straight for her or are ending here, you’ll need to win her affections for the trophy.
Much like other girls in the Cabaret Club minigame of Like a Dragon Gaiden, you’ll have to build up three hearts with Ai over repeat visits to The Castle’s club. This can be done through drinks and gifts, but most importantly, through a rigorous set of Q+A to see if Joryu is truly Ai’s type.
How to increase Affection with Ai
The bar in the top-left corner shows how much Affection you’ve built up over time with Ai. Clear the little mark, and you’ll need to answer one more prompt correctly to add on a heart. Three hearts, and you get a special romance scene and the Akame Network achievement.
In my own playtime, I found varying success with the different options at the Cabaret Club. Drinks can add a good boost, but they cost money that I’d rather be spending on combat upgrades. Gifts are expensive too, but the late-game sections of Like a Dragon Gaiden hand you solid gifts by the wheelbarrow-full, so feel free to use ’em if you have ’em.
Really, though, the cheapest and most consistent way to win over Ai and other Cabaret Club minigame hostesses in Like a Dragon Gaiden is through saying the right thing at the right time. Completing Ai’s Cabaret Club romance
Once you’ve won three of Ai’s hearts, you’ll be treated to a special scene with her, at a special location. And while previous special scenes have run the gamut from campy and tame to quite risqué, this one… well, this is the only screenshot I could post without my higher-ups asking questions.
This shared bath scene is actually fairly impressive to me, from a production standpoint. The point-of-view moves into the tub too, so now you’ve got a camera and a noticeable ring light sitting opposite Ai in this tub. I would love to see the behind-the-scenes of how they shot some of these.
Excuse my tangent, but after guiding out all of these Cabaret Club minigames for Like a Dragon Gaiden, I think I’ve earned it. Anyways, getting clean with Ai will net you the Ai’s Amore achievement in the Akame Network and 2,500 points.
