Disney Lorcana’s Shimmering Skies expansion builds upon the TCG’s universe, adding new Disney movie characters and locations into the mix. As with every set, there are a bunch of new Enchanted cards for you to collect that are not only stunning, they’re incredibly powerful.
Enchanted cards are some of the rarest cards in Disney Lorcana. They have alternative art, foil finishes, and powerful abilities that make each one extremely strong. Since they’re so rare, you can’t get them in set boxes such as the Gateway Box; you can only pull them from booster packs. These cards are the only thing that makes me want to collect cards for the game because I think they’re so gorgeous, but I also love how I could destroy an opponent with just one of them in my deck.
Every Enchanted card in the Disney Lorcana Shimmering Skies set
Below, I’ve listed all 18 of the Enchanted cards you can pull from the Disney Lorcana Shimmering Skies set. I’ve included their abilities and a brief explanation of what makes them so good so you can see why they’re worth trying to get from a booster box. Many of them were valued at over $100, such as Archimedes, Electrified Owl, within days of the set launching, so they’re also a sound investment if that’s why you’re into this TCG.
Archimedes, Electrified Owl – Amethyst Ink
Archimedes, Electrified Owl is a 1/4 Floodborn Ally. It costs 5 Ink to play, but you can cut that down to 3 with its Shift ability. It has Evasive, which means only other cards with the Evasive ability can challenge it while it’s questing for Lore, and it gains 3 Strength when challenging other characters with its Challenger ability.
This card is great because you can get an easy 2 Lore that your opponent can’t challenge if they don’t have a card with Evasive. It’s also strong when challenging because it has a total of 4 Strength which can wipe out quite a few characters and leave it with a sliver of Willpower. You could then recover that Willpower with the right card, so this could see you jump up the board and win very quickly.
Olaf, Happy Passenger – Amethyst Ink
Olaf, Happy Passenger is a huge 9 Ink 6/6 Storyborn Ally with Evasive. His ability, Clear The Path, reduces his cost for every exerted character you have in play. You likely won’t have 9 Ink before turn 9 unless you play a few cards that allow you to fill your Inkpot faster.
However, if you get a lot of characters on the board by somewhere around turn 4 or 5, you can exert them all and then play Olaf, Happy Passenger, so you have a beefy card to back up anything you lose when your opponent challenges you.
Finders Keepers – Amethyst Ink
Finders Keepers is a 5 Ink Action card that allows you to draw 3 cards. There are plenty of other cards in Disney Lorcana that let you do this, but none are as pretty as this image of Iago.
Donald Duck, Pie Slinger – Ruby Ink
Donald Duck is a 5 Ink 3/6 Floodborn Hero Knight. You can summon him for 4 Ink using his Shift ability, but it’s everything else he does that’s the real draw of playing this card. His Humble Pie ability reduces your opponent’s Lore by 2 if you summon him using his Shift cost. While that means you need another Donald Duck or two in the deck, it’s worth it to help you claw back a win.
The Raging Duck ability grants this card an additional 6 Strength for a total of 9 while your opponent has 10 or more Lore. Make no mistake, this is a mid-game card you can play early, but I’d advise playing it late so you can challenge anything your opponent puts down.
Robin Hood, Sharpshooter – Ruby Ink
Robin Hood, Sharpshooter is a 4 Ink, 1/4 Storyborn Hero. His ability, My Greatest Performance, allows you to check the top 4 cards of your deck, reveal and play an action card of 6 cost or less, and then discard the rest each time you quest with the card. This could be quite a powerful card if you know you’ve got something like Finders Keepers you want to play.
In addition, Robin Hood, Sharpshooter can quest for 2 Lore. He’s not the strongest card, but being able to grab 2 Lore with a Willpower that takes a decent card from your opponent to be stopped is always advantageous.
Ratigan’s Party – Ruby Ink
Ratigan’s Party is a 2 Ink, 1/7 Location card. It won’t gain you any Lore from being on the board, but its ability, Misfits’ Revelry, grants you 2 Lore per turn if you have a damaged character at this Location. I can see this being useful for those strong characters like Sisu you use to challenge your opponent and take a big hit. Moving Sisu to this Location after denying your opponent a nice chunk of Lore will net you additional Lore from that character without putting them directly at risk.
Snow White, Fair-Hearted – Steel Ink
Snow White, Fair-Hearted is a 5 Ink, 3/5 Dreamborn Hero Princess Knight. She can quest for a whopping 3 Lore, and her ability, Natural Leader, reduces any damage dealt to her in a challenge for every other Knight character you have in play.
Owning this card is a great excuse to build a Knight deck and absolutely stomp your opponents by the time the Ink on her has dried. I’d ensure I’ve played at least three Knights before bringing her out, then simply quest for Lore with every character each turn until I’d won. Your opponent is going to have to work seriously hard to stop that kind of play.
Arthur, King Victorious – Steel Ink
Arthur, King Victorious is a 7 Ink, 3/6 Floodborn Hero King. His Shift ability can reduce his cost to 5 Ink if you’ve got another Arthur card to play. His ability, Knighted By The King, endows another character you name with an additional 2 Strength and 2 resistance to damage when challenging. The ability also allows the card you name to challenge any card, ready or exerted, which is a huge advantage you can use to prevent your opponent from pulling off powerful strategies that may involve Songs or Locations.
Bad-Anon – Steel Ink
Bad-Anon is a 3 Ink, 2/7 Location card that gains 1 Lore per turn. Its ability, There’s No One I’d Rather Be Than Me, gives Villains at this Location the power to summon other Villains of the same or lower cost and same name for free. This is great if you have a couple of versions of the same Villain in your deck.
Prince Naveen, Ukelele Player – Amber Ink
Prince Naveen, Ukelele Player is a 4 Ink, 3/3 Storyborn Hero Prince. He has the ability to sing any Songs at 6 cost and under, which effectively plays them for no Ink cost and exerts this card. His named ability, It’s Beautiful, No?, lets you play a 6-cost or cheaper Song for free when you play him.
With this card, I’d add more than a few extra Songs into my deck. This could see you add the Evasive status to a few of your cards and quest for Lore without fear of being challenged or healing a few characters who might be too weak to do anything. While Prince Naveen himself isn’t powerful, his voice certainly is.
Vanellope Von Schweetz, Sugar Rush Princess
Vanellope Von Schweetz, Sugar Rush Princess is a 4 Ink, 2/4 Floodborn Hero Princess Racer. Her Shift ability reduces her cost to 2 Ink if you have more than one of her in a deck. Her named ability, I Hereby Decree, reduces every opposing character’s Strength by 1 for the rest of the turn whenever you play another Princess card.
There are a lot of Disney princesses out there, and in Disney Lorcana, many don’t cost more than a few Ink to play. In the late game, you could very easily leave your opponent with no challenging power if you have Vanellope on the board.
Revive – Amber Ink
Revive is a 5 Ink Action Card that lets you bring any 5 Ink or lower card back from your discard pile for free. There are some decent cards out there that give you more draws when they enter and leave the game, and that would work well with Revive. I think it’s best to pull your mid-power cards back onto the board, though. those ones with beefy Strength and Willpower to protect the ones you quest with.
Clarabelle, Light on Her Hooves – Emerald Ink
Clarabelle, Light on Her Hooves is a 7 Ink, 5/6 Floodborn Ally with a Shoft cost of 5. Her ability, Keep In Step, lets you draw cards until you have the same number in your hand as your opponent at the end of your turn. If you’ve been playing lots of smaller cards to get Calrabelle out, it pays off immediately.
The power to just keep drawing cards is mad, especially if you play as many as possible each turn. This puts pressure on your opponent to play as much as possible, potentially ruining their long-term plans.
Scar, Vengeful Lion – Emerald Ink
Scar, Vengeful Lion is a 4 Ink, 4/2 Storyborn Villain. He has Ward, meaning opponents can’t choose this card except to challenge it. His ability, Life’s Not Fair, Is It? lets you draw a card when one of your cards challenges a damaged character.
This is a brutal play, but one that’s great if you’re trying to stop your opponent from questing for Lore. Some games play out with a fair race to 20 Lore, but challenges exist for a reason, and this card makes the most of them. If you want to be mean, bring Scar along for the ride.
You’re Welcome – Emerald Ink
You’re Welcome is an Action Song card that costs 4 Ink to play, or it can be sung by a character that costs 4 Ink or more to play. When played, you can shuffle your chosen character, item, or location into your deck and draw 2 cards. You can also make your opponent do this instead of you, which could remove those extremely powerful cards from the board before they’re a hazard.
Mufasa, Ruler of Pride Rock – Sapphire Ink
Mufasa, Ruler of Pride Rock is an 8 Ink, 4/9 Storyborn Mentor King. He has two abilities. A Delicate Balance causes you to exert every card in your Inkwell and then return two of them to your hand so you can play them again. Everything The Light Touches readies all cards in your Inkwell when you quest with this card.
Mufasa may just end the game in your favor. He can quest for a huge 4 Lore, which you could buff with Songs and Locations, and then just defend him with other characters. I can see a good play where you load up the board with characters, then quest with him to do it all again by resetting your Inkwell. this might be the biggest power move in the Shimmering Skies set.
King Candy, Sweet Abomination – Sapphire Ink
King Candy, Sweet Abomination is a 5 Ink, 3/3 Floodborn Villain King Racer with a Shift cost of 3. His ability, Changing The Code, gives you the ability to draw 2 cards, and then stick 1 card from your hand at the bottom of your deck.
King Candy, Sweet Abomination isn’t terribly powerful and his ability doesn’t give you much of an advantage. An Action card like Finders Keepers would be better at the same cost. But he does give you more Strength and Willpower on the board and can quest for 2 Lore which is better than nothing.
Royal Tantrum – Sapphire Ink
Royal Tantrum is a 4 Ink Action card that lets you banish any number of your item cards you fancy, and then draw a card for each one. It could be a nice way of resetting the board if you’re not having a good game, or you could gear your strategy to having too many items and then swapping them all for new cards to overwhelm your opponent.
