ALGS (Apex Legends Global Series) has revealed everything attending fans can look forward to at the upcoming ALGS Split 2 Playoffs 2024 event. Unlike previous LAN events, this one features something new for fans to engage with on each of the four days the show runs.
The ALGS Split 2 Playoffs 2024 take place in Mannheim, Germany, from August 29 to September 1, 2024. Those attending can experience something new outside of the main event and watch 40 teams compete for a chunk of the $1 million prize pool each day. This includes the first-ever Tailgate Party, where fans can mingle with pro players, a creator showcase, a POI Live Draft, and even a treasure hunt that’ll take fans around the venue in search of the iconic ALGS mascot.

During previous ALGS events, fans have had the opportunity to engage with sponsors and team booths. These are back for the Split 2 Playoffs, allowing anyone on-site to play a few games and participate in competitions to win prizes, such as gaming chairs and PC components. Team booths see pro players meet and greet their fans, even signing merch if you’ve got some.
The best idea I’ve seen so far is having a controller signed by as many players as possible. Of course, exclusive merch will also be available at the event, which you might want to get signed if you’re pretty passionate about a particular team.
The merch that seems to sell out the fastest is always the Nessie plushies. The 2023 Finals had a new gold Nessie on offer, and for the Split 2 Playoffs 2024, there’s an entire Nessie Treasure Hunt. This requires fans to explore the venue and find certain items or achieve specific tasks so they can claim a prize.
All of this is on top of the opportunity to hang out with pro players during the Tailgate Party, during which those players will hop into Apex Legends matches against anyone who fancies taking them on. Before the competition’s final day, creators will participate in a tournament on the main stage in Straight Shot, a game mode returning during Season 22 of Apex Legends.
The ALGS Split 2 Playoffs 2024 is shaping up to be the most engaging event of the ALGS calendar to date. Every year, the ALGS team works to improve the quality of the experience for attendees, and with a plethora of other tiny activations like freeplay arcade machines and meetups, there’s going to be something to do from the moment the venue opens to the second security locks the doors.
