Coming to Xbox One and PC in January
Rise and shine: it’s not just something I put off doing each and every morning. It’s also a video game — an eye-catching run-and-gun published by Adult Swim Games, in fact — that’s coming to PC and Xbox One on January 13, 2016. “Rise” is a child, and “Shine” is his gun. Hence, Rise & Shine.
This is “a true ‘think and gun’ that combines elements of arcade shooters, bullet hells, and puzzle platformers to create a new blend of strategy and viscera. Switch between Shine’s add-ons to solve puzzles that redefine what bullets can do. Guide projectiles through intricate mazes, electrify damaged equipment to discover new pathways, and juggle 8-bit fruit because why not?”
The developers at Super Awesome Hyper Dimensional Mega Team previously contributed to games like Plants vs. Zombies and Worms. This is the team’s first PC and console release together.

I’m not super enthusiastic about the referential humor and nods (Jed noted a Wreck-It-Ralph sensibility), but the side-scrolling shooter mechanics and intricate art direction have me sufficiently interested.
