The Internet can probably do it quicker

Everyone knew that The Witcher 3:Wild Hunt would be a massive game. CD Projekt Red’s been touting that since early development, and, frankly, it was just kind of assumed anyway. Sure, there will be plenty of non-integral side stuff to pad it out, but it looks as if the critical path is lengthy in its own right — even for those who are intimately familiar with it.

Speaking with Gamereactor Germany, CD Projekt Red said that the quickest any of its playtesters have been able to clear The Witcher 3 is around 25 hours. And, that’s the optimal route through the game, while skipping past all dialogue. This figure isn’t an isolated effort, either. Judging by the tone of the quote, other testers tried but were unable to clear the 25-hour benchmark.

At this point, these testers are the people in the world who are most acclimated to The Witcher 3. So, it represents the fairest current estimate for a fast time through the game. But, come a few weeks after release, there will surely be played who obliterate this speedrun, because that’s what people on the Internet do.
