Microsoft’s new motion controller may be finding its way into some homes soon. Sources have reported to Joystiq that invitations to participate in the “Xbox Live and Kinect Beta Program” have been sent out users of Microsoft Connect, a consumer feedback service.
Joystiq reports that the content of the e-mails being sent to prospective testers is slim on details. It does note that participants will be unable to individual or party voice chat with Xbox Live users who are not part of the beta program due to an “audio change.” That could be a plus or a minus, depending on your perspective, but also suggests that users may be testing out the video chat system in the new Kinect Dashboard shown at E3.
Did any of you get invites to try out Kinect in your home? I guess mine was lost in the mail. Feel free to hit me up again, Microsoft.
