Of interest to most players will be the brand new selection of different fish types to get, and we will provide all the information you will need to navigate your way around the Grand Reef.

What is the Grand Reef event?

This is a new update that went live inĀ FischĀ on January 4 that includes a limited-time quest (that went live on the 5th), plus several new boats, bobbers, and, of course, fish types.

Here is the content of the update.

  • Eight new types of fish
  • Coral Chromis
  • Coral Emperor
  • Coral Guard
  • Crystal Wrasse
  • Grand Reef Guardian
  • Reef Goby
  • Reef Minnow
  • Reef Parrotfish
  • Two new limited boats
  • Celestial cruiser
  • Pride of Fisch cruiser
  • One new Bestiary bobber
  • Coral Reef Bobber
  • Four new bobbers
  • Abyssal Trident
  • Coral Crown
  • Mythic Sea Star
  • One new lantern
  • Eternal Lantern of Abyss
  • Two limited rod skins
  • Abyssal Vortex
  • Abyssal Sovereign

How to reach the Grand Reef

This mysterious and electric coral reef is not marked on any map. To reach it, you can go around the backside of Forgotten Shores and then locate the buoy that is positioned between the two pencil-like rocks that reach out from the sea. Turn around your camera, and you should notice, in the distance, another buoy just outside your view. Head towards it, and you will find the Grand Reef.

Alternatively, you can direct your boat towards the Northern Expedition. Then stop your boat and locate Forsaken Shores and Roslit Island, you want to head right leaving them just between your ships. Slowly go between them, and pretty soon, you should see the mysterious island with electrical discharges all around it.

All rewards for the Grand Reef event quest in Fisch

If you want to join the Grand Reef event, just go to the platform with the shiny boat that is sitting just to the left of the dock in Moosewood. Interacting with the NPC will bring up all of the day’s available quests. Completing each one will award you XP points, which count towards getting some of the sweet rewards in the update.

Here are all the different rewards in the event:

  • 50 XP : 2.5000C$
  • 150 XP : New Year’s Title
  • 300 XP : 25.000C$
  • 500 XP : Limited time bobber
  • 750 XP : Limited time boat

Each quest will give you from 15 to 25 XP, depending on how long and complex they can be to complete. Each day, the game will provide four quests for you to complete, such as catching 10 rare fish or one shiny one, and the deadline to complete all of them is January 17.

If you manage to complete them all on each day of the month, that should give you just enough XP to get the final reward, the coveted special boat. You should not be required to spend Robux, which was apparent just after the update went live since no daily quests seemed to give players more than 15 XP. This has apparently been fixed, so you should have just enough points without needing to spend any money.

Still, in case you need to catch up or you have not completed enough quests, you can spend 7 Robux to reset the quests just once. It will be quite more expensive the next time, at 25 robux.

How to catch all the fish in the Grand Reef update

Luckily, it seems that most of the fish introduced in this update aren’t very hard to catch. Even if you don’t possess a high-powered rod, you should still be able to catch most of them while using a mid-tier one, as long as you are using the right bait. Luckily, none of the new fish in the update require you to be fishing on any particular type of day.

Here are all the different baits to use to catch all of the new types of Grand Reef fish:

  • Coral Chromis: Shrimp
  • Coral Emperor (Legendary): Fish Head
  • Coral Guard: Flake
  • Crystal Wrasse (Unusual): Insect
  • Grand Reef Guardian (Mythical): Truffle Worm
  • Reef Goby: Worm
  • Reef Minnow: Seaweed
  • Reef Parrotfish (Rare): Coral

For the Coral Emperor and Grand Reef Guardian, clearly sticking with some of the more powerful rods, such as the Heavenly Rod, might be a better idea, but overall, it won’t be necessary. Just keep on using the right kind of bait, and you should be able to catch them.
