Microsoft has revealed that Kinect is a hit, netting 2.5 million sales in 25 days worldwide. With a little help from Black Friday and plenty of aid from Microsoft’s infinite marketing budget, the gadget has given its maker plenty to crow about.
“We are thrilled about the consumer response to Kinect, and are working hard with our retail and manufacturing partners to expedite production and shipments of Kinect to restock shelves as fast as possible to keep up with demand,” says Don Mattrick, doing everything he can to ape Nintendo circa 2005. “With sales already exceeding two and a half million units in just 25 days, we are on pace to reach our forecast of 5 million units sold to consumers this holiday.”
Great news for Microsoft, but can we spend some of the profit on making new Kinect Burger King commercials? The current ones irritate the piss out of me.
