[Update] Rumor no more! Mr McMillen confirms that the Mr Minecraft will be in Super Meat Boy PC.

A twitter stalker just sent us a hot tip. It looks like Team Meat (Super Meat Boy) has been chatting up the creator of Notch (Minecraft) with some public tweets, and Notch has given Team Meat permission to use Mr. Minecraft in the PC version of Super Meat Boy. I’ve contacted Edmund McMillen for comment on this, and I haven’t heard back yet. I’ll let you know if we land some confirmation.

This last bit isn’t actually a rumor, I’m throwing it in here anyway. Danny Baranowsky, the composer for Super Meat Boy, is holding a contest. Remix one or two songs from the game’s score, and you could land a spot on the official soundtrack.

I didn’t have the space in the full review to talk about how great of a job Mr. Baranoswky did on Super Meat Boy‘s soundtrack, so I’ll do that now. The soundtrack is fantastic. It starts off a bit low key, but by the darkworld Hell levels, things get truly insane, and awesome. I’m still humming that particular track to myself daily. It’s like Rockapella meets Petey Wheatstraw.

Yeah, there’s a reason I don’t write music reviews.
