Blizzard would be on board with a StarCraft movie. Who wouldn’t be? But they have some pretty specific conditions. One is that James Cameron would direct this film.

Rob Pardo of Blizzard spoke with MTV Multiplayer and said that he’d do the flick if Cameron was on board.

We’ve always had an interest in seeing our stuff on film or TV. It’s just tricky to find the right partners. We probably could have made a [‘StarCraft’] movie or something on TV years and years ago, but it’s really important to us that we find creative people that are really talented but also really excited about our properties. That’s always been the challenge for us. I think if Jim Cameron came to us tomorrow and said, ‘You want to make a ‘StarCraft’ movie?’ we’d probably sign that.

He didn’t say ‘only Cameron,’ but I get where he’s coming from. If they’re going to do a movie, it has got to be big, just like their game. Big and flashy and blue and 3D, with sinking ships and marginal t*ts and music that makes you want to stick sharp things in your ears.

I can’t wait. Not that this is ever going to happen or anything.
