Pac-Man Vs. was one of the best games for the ill-fated, Gamecube-to-Gameboy connectivity fad from the last generation of gaming. That’s not really saying a lot, as the only other major releases to make use of the system was Legend of Zelda: Four Swords Adventures and Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles.
When rumors were circulating around the Wii U’s built-in-screen controller, Pac-Man Vs. and the other Gamecube-to-Gameboy connectivity titles were some of the first games that people brought up as potential titles for the console. Nintendo seemed aware of this, and are answering the call of those interested in a new Pac-Man Vs. with Chase Mii.
One character holds the Wii U controller. They get a ten second head start, and a fuller view of the entire map. It’s their task to stay out of sight of the other players. To balance out their head start advantage, the other players can run faster, and have the ability to do a short speed boost, with the penalty of needing to catch their breath for a second when the boost is over.
This all comes together in a game that’s local multi-player genius.
