As one of the guys who totally dug the first Silent Hill movie, I’m quite excited to hear that the sequel is going to start filming very soon.

Resident Evil: Afterlife (DO WANT on that film too) producer, Don Carmody, dropped a start date for filming in an interview with fearnet. Filming is supposed to begin in “late spring” in Toronto, he says.

Carmody also touched on game films in general in the interview and talks about getting closer to games through film. When asked about the how much the games influence of game films he said:

We have always been cognizant of that — we can’t make the movies just for gamers.  Of course, we always run the risk of incurring the wrath of the gamers — who are very vocal.  I did Silent Hill and we are planning a Silent Hill 2 — we were getting hate mail for that one.

I’m going to remain positive. One thing, though: We’re with Destructoid community blogger Arsenic13 in the hopes that there’s a lot less casual use of our buddy Pyramid Head in the sequel. We’ll take more breast flesh ripping, though!
