Did we need more proof of Apple’s dominion over mankind? Apparently we do, as it’s been revealed that the company’s latest cash cow, the iPad, shifted over 300,000 units on day one. Yes, despite everybody mocking the thing when it was first revealed, they still fell over themselves trying to get one.

As well as iPad sales, Apple also revealed that one million Apps were downloaded during launch day as well, along with over 250,000 ebooks.

“It feels great to have the iPad launched into the world — it’s going to be a game changer,” boasts Steve Jobs, Apple’s CEO. “iPad users, on average, downloaded more than three apps and close to one book within hours of unpacking their new iPad.”

So there you go, the iPad is a success. The iPad is a success. It’s not like there was any doubt, but I really don’t know what to think about that.
