According to Eurogamer’s source, Bethesda Game Studios is currently working on Elder Scrolls V. The fifth game in the series is reported to be a direct sequel to Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion.

This anonymous source even mentioned some information about the game’s content, dropping phrases like “Dragon Lord” and “The Blades,” which could as easily be Oblivion fan fiction as it could be official canon. According to the report, voice acting for the title — and there’s going to be a lot of if, if previous games are any indication — is being recorded in the coming weeks.

Speaking with Eurogamer at QuakeCon earlier in the year, Bethesda’s Todd Howard spoke of an unannounced title which he said was “pretty far along” adding that “when you first hear about it to when it’s out will be the shortest it’s been” for the developer. He also went on to confirm it will appear on existing platforms, and said “you almost feel like you have a new console when you see the game.”

When we contacted Bethesda for this story, a rep told us exactly what we expected to hear: “We don’t comment on rumor and speculation.”
