The follow-up to Battlefield: Bad Company hits retail shelves on March 2nd, 2010 in at least two different ways: as a normal dry bones box with disc and as a Limited Edition package. As usual, the LE package will come with some perks — six multiplayer, “day one advantage” perks, to be specific.

But don’t expect to pay to more. According to the release, the LE version “will be sold at the same price as the standard version.”

So, let’s talk LE. As was teased moons ago, two vintage Battlefield 1943 weapons — the M1A1 submachine gun and the M1911 — will be gifted to those willing to dish out the extra coin for the expensive version of BC 2.

In addition to this, DICE is tossing in four vehicle “unlocks” that improve the armor rating, the firepower, and the mini-map radar thing. The latter comes in two forms, via a enhanced “Vehicle Motion Sensor” attachment and “Tracer Dart Pistol,” which can paint any vehicle allowing for easy tracking and lock-ons.

It’s unclear if these unlocks can actually be unlocked through some sort of progression system in the multiplayer component of the game, but if the LE version is being sold at the same price, it doesn’t seem to matter. That is, if this special version of the game isn’t a pre-order only thing — which, by the way, isn’t mentioned in the press materials we’ve seen.
