A sale between two users of Entropia Universe blows the mind. This MMO allows the conversion of in-game currency to real world currency, giving in-game property real world value. The sale of some of bio domes, a mall, stadium and a club from one user to another was valued at $335,000. Holy sh*t. This figure beats out a record set last year with the purchase of the game’s Crystal Palace Space Station, which cost someone $330,000.
The seller, a guy named Jon Jacobs, has purchased some high end virtual property before. Edge says that he once purchased a virtual asteroid for $100,000. I bet a real asteroid costs about the same!
Knowing this, I’ll never feel bad about a frivolous gaming purchase ever again.
