Just in time for Christmas or replacement for your launch day PS3 (mine is starting to sound pretty rough!) is this announcement by Sony of new standalone 320GB PS3 systems. Up until now there was only a 160GB as a standalone, and if you wanted a big ol’ 320GB you had to buy some kind of bundle. That changes soon, though.

For only $50 more than the 160GB system you’ll double your storage capacity. Yes, the 320GB will be $349.99. Systems begin shipping to retailers today, so look for them in-store any time now.

I’m thinking this would be a prime candidate for my ailing PS3, but I’m kind of hung up on the Blue PS3 bundle for Gran Turismo 5.
