Do you miss Reverend Anthony? I sure do. Like with .Tiff, what he provided for Destructoid could never be replaced. I still read his Twitter though, which might be as close as I’m going to get to seeing him write for Dtoid again.

It was there that I spotted this game, pOnd. If you’re a long-time reader of the site, playing it will definitely remind you of Anthony, but it’s more than nostalgia that lead me to enjoy this game. It’s definitely a matter of taste, but if you like art games that 1) try to say something interesting and 2) manage to surprise you, then I think you’ll like pOnd.

Saying more than that will give too much away, but lets just say that you really can’t judge pOnd until you’ve played it every last second of it. The game only takes a few minutes to “win”, so unless you’re late to catch a plane or something, there’s really no good reason for you not to check this out. Hit the link below to play it.

Videogames, I suppose."- Gainax, FLCL Vol. 1 "The beach, the trees, even the clouds in the sky... everything is build from little tiny pieces of stuff. Just like in a Gameboy game... a nice tight little world... and all its inhabitants... made out of little building blocks... Why can't these little pixels be the building blocks for love..? For loss... for understanding"- James Kochalka, Reinventing Everything part 1 "I wonder if James Kolchalka has played Mother 3 yet?" Jonathan Holmes
