What do you think of the PSP Minis. I think they were wannabe DSiWare or App Store apps. Smaller, cheaper bits of software that you were supposed to go nuts over. I have a few, and they’re…okay. I didn’t need or strongly desire any of them, but they’re nice to have, I suppose.

How does Sony think the PSP Minis program is doing? SCEA’s SVP of publisher relations, Rob Dyer, told Gamasutra that “it’s gone okay.” If you ask me, he doesn’t sound very excited about the Minis.

“My concern with Minis always has been if you have a PSP or a PS3, do you want to play small bite-sized games like that? I think the jury’s still out. I think in some instances they do, and some instances they don’t.

Dyer also said that “there have been a couple that have been really cool,” but he feels like many of the titles are just higher resolution, re-calibrated iPhone games. Some are. And if you already have an iPhone, these titles are like one-offs of one-offs.

When asked about the program’s future, Dyer said that they will continue. “It’s not like you have to spend a lot more money in order to get something that has a lot more impact for the platform,” says Dyer.
