While the wildly successful early access medieval strategy/town-building game Manor Lords might have fallen out of the headlines for a little while, that may well change soon enough. A huge new content update is now on the horizon, adding a little something for virtually every kind of player.
Broadly speaking, the majority of Manor Lords‘ updates have been on the smaller side of the spectrum so far. One of the more prominent updates introduced fishing ponds, for example, which is a far cry from what’s coming in the next patch. With two brand new maps headlining the content list, Manor Lords developer Slavic Magic is about to substantially expand the game’s content roster, as well as overhauling some of its more problematic and/or questionable simulation aspects.
Manor Lords’ new update features two new maps and more
For what it’s worth, Slavic Magic hasn’t spent all that many words discussing the specific bits and bobs that are being added. The Steam blog post is fairly succinct, in fact, which is well in line with the developer’s previous communications on the matter.
Regardless, the upcoming update (which doesn’t currently appear to have a release window, mind) is supposed to feature:
- Two entirely new maps
- Several substantial building upgrades
- Ale distribution rework
- Water distribution rework
- An overhaul of the Marketplace system
Hefty, right? Slavic Magic sadly hasn’t gone into any significant detail on what the aforementioned reworks might entail. We just know that the developer has “tested three different systems to find an engaging, intuitive, and easy-to-understand solution” for the Marketplace feature and that the Ale and Water distribution networks are currently in closed testing. The bit that has been revealed will thrill advanced players, however: the new Marketplace UI will have a comprehensive set of filters, which is a highly sought-after feature on the discussion boards.
For more information on what’s what, as well as the ETA on Manor Lords‘ next update, we’re just going to have to stay tuned. From the look of things, it shouldn’t be too long now, but time will tell.
