Disney Dreamlight Valley: Mythic Restoration quest guide

Hades is learning a lot about himself today.

Weā€™ve officially introduced Hades into our Disney Dreamlight Valley village during Storybook Valeā€™s main questline. After learning more about his quarrel with Maleficent, which is slowly plaguing this fairy tale world, you agree to help Hades in exchange for his cooperation.

The first friendship quest youā€™ll encounter is Mythic Restoration, a mission focused on repairing Elysian Fields to make it more suitable for a god. Letā€™s help Hades fix up Mythopia a little bit so he can be more comfortable.

Mythic Restoration quest walkthrough

As Hades starts complaining about the state of Mythopia, heā€™ll ask you to bring him some magical sources from the region so he can improve your pickaxe. Below are the materials youā€™ll need:

  • Crimson Eternal Poppies (3)
  • Posidonia plants (5)
  • Gravel (10)

Crimson Eternal Poppies are fairly easy, as they spawn all around Elysian Fields and Mount Olympus on the ground. There are four poppy types, so watch out for their red variants.

Posidonia plants, on the other hand, spawn in Mythopiaā€™s waters, much like algae. However, youā€™ll need to avoid the colored ripples, as these give you fish instead. Youā€™ll pick up some Flying Fish along the way, but donā€™t worry; theyā€™ll appear eventually.

Lastly, use your royal shovel anywhere in Mythopia to dig up the earth and grab some gravel. You may not get some immediately, but a few holes should net you a few. Keep doing this until you pick up ten.

After collecting each item, return to Hades to get your pickaxe upgrade. Now, you can destroy marble in Mythopia. Heā€™ll also ask you to get rid of some Demon Snippets, so make sure to add that to the to-do list. Youā€™ll only need to find five, but they have some peculiar movement patterns compared to birds and frogs.

More specifically, theyā€™ll fly away when you first attempt to catch them with your net. You just have to chase them and try a second time to get them.

Crafting Hades’ statues

After catching some Demon Snippets and mining a few marble chunks, head back to Hades to hear his plans for improving Mythopia. Heā€™s unsure at first, but after some thinking, he decides to place some statues of himself. He is the God of the Underworld, so we canā€™t be too surprised about this.

Since we’re the protagonists, though, Hades will assign us the task of gathering all the supplies and making the statues. Woohoo.

Hereā€™s everything you need to make Hadesā€™ statues:

  • Marble (4)
  • Magma (4)
  • Gold Nuggets (4)

After cleaning up the Elysian Plains, you should still have plenty of marble. If not, mine a few more marble chunks to grab some.

Magma is the hardest one to get, as youā€™ll need to mine it. Itā€™s the only ore type youā€™ll find here, so watch for orange gems jutting out of the dark mining spots.

Last is gold nuggets, which you might already have from the base game. You can get them in Sunlit Plateau, Frosted Heights, and Forgotten Lands in Dreamlight Valley, or Mythopia in the Storybook Vale. In other words, you have several options for getting your hands on a few nuggets. Youā€™ll likely find enough for these statues as you search for magma.

With all three items on hand, go to any crafting station and make a few Hades Statues. Youā€™ll then have to place them anywhere within Mythopia. It doesnā€™t matter which of its four regions you pick, but you can spam them around Elysian Fields if youā€™d like.

Eavesdropping in the Library of Lore

Once all four are placed, return to Hades and tell him the good news. Heā€™s ecstatic about them but wants to hear the other villagersā€™ opinions. Rather than asking directly, though, he entrusts you to eavesdrop on a few conversations. Heā€™ll recommend you pick up some rustic green and brown clothing for it, too, so be prepared to do some dress-up.

Since youā€™ll have to camouflage yourself, youā€™ll need to pick up and wear the following clothes:

  • Rustic Clothing
  • Green Clothing
  • Brown Clothing

The easiest way to do this is to open your Wardrobe menu, select Hadesā€™ icons, and pick and choose some clothes there. Alternatively, you can manually look for some rustic, green, and brown clothes through the search and filters page.

Once you have all three clothing items on, visit the Library of Lore to listen in on some conversations. Their comments are pretty funny, so Iā€™ll avoid spoiling the specifics so you can experience them yourself.

Fixing the Lightning Generator

After witnessing some interesting discussions about Hadesā€™ statues and how they could use a few modifications, chat with the Lorekeeper to hear about a Lightning Generator in the Library of Loreā€™s East wing. Youā€™ll also need to pick up some Lightning Spice from Elysian Fields.

With some Lightning Spice in your inventory, go into the wing heading toward Mythopia and enter the alcove to your right. Youā€™ll find a desk, globe, and the lightning generator, which youā€™ll place some spice into to power it up. Wait for Hades to run into the room before talking to him about it.

While youā€™d expect him to be excited about it, which he is, at first, he is disappointed by the result. After some experimenting from him, he ends up breaking the machine and questioning why he gets compared to Zeus. After some back and forth, you decide that leaving him to his thoughts is for the best, wrapping up Disney Dreamlight Valleyā€™s Mythic Restoration quest.
