How to find the Weathervane in Fields of Mistria

Not so difficult to track down

As part of the first major update to Fields of Mistria, new main story quests were added that enable you to get new features. One such quest is “Find the Weathervane”, which will eventually enable you to use animals as mounts.

This quest will only become available at a certain point after you’ve done a significant amount of town improvement. You’ll need to have completed all of the following:

At some point after Hayden’s barn is enlarged, an overnight event will occur and a “strong wind” will blow through Mistria. When you step outside of your house the morning after, Hayden will pay you a visit.

He’ll make sure that everything is okay with you, before admitting that the Weathervane from his new Barn was blown off by the wind. He’ll ask you to go and look for it, before handily stating that the wind was blowing in a northerly direction.

I’m not sure how he knows what direction the wind was heading, but this information very usefully narrows down your search to somewhere in The Narrows.

To find the Weathervane, head up into The Narrows and make your way to the platform just north of Errol’s Cabin. Then, make your way to the left. Here you’ll find a big rock (it’s new), along with Hayden’s Weathervane lying on the ground in front of a new and mysterious Horse Statue. The location is marked below on the map:

Once you’ve got the Weathervane, track down Hayden and give it back to him. He’ll thank you for your efforts and return to his Barn to replace it before Ryis and Landen notice that it’s gone. This is pretty much all there is to this quest, but you can now go and interact with the Horse Statue and see what happens.

No spoilers here.
