If you, too, find yourself more excited about Escape From Tarkov‘s unofficial single-player mods than the real deal, then you’ll be thrilled to hear that there’s big stuff on the horizon. Notably, Tarkov‘s mid-August update 0.15 is seemingly about to make its way into SPT, at long last.
Even though it’s been months since Escape From Tarkov‘s tripwire and Desert Eagle content update dropped into the main game, it has taken a long while for Single-Player Tarkov‘s dedicated team of volunteer modders to get stuff ported over. Given that the SPT team reliably delivers a high-quality customized product every single time, this isn’t a big deal for the mod’s fans. The waiting comes part and parcel, really. Still, it’s exciting to see that update 3.10 (ostensibly Tarkov‘s update 0.15) is now actively being teased on SPT’s main website.
SPT-AKI’s 3.10 update releases on October 26
The link featured above may seem very mysterious if you’re unfamiliar with SPT’s verbiage, but it’s really quite straightforward. The 3.10 denotes the new version’s build number (we’re on 3.9 as of now), while the countdown featured below it obviously suggests a launch time. As per the countdown itself, SPT 3.10 should release on November 26, which is very soon indeed.
The bit to keep in mind is that SPT developers usually roll a few different builds of Escape From Tarkov into one substantial release. In practice, this means we’re not getting just the barebones Update 0.15 from Tarkov, but it and a few extra hotfixes it received later down the line. To say nothing of SPT’s own custom codebase and improvements, which also drop alongside this build.
Broadly, we’re looking at a fairly substantial content update. Just to list a few of the most notable additions:
- Factory map rework
- Tripwires
- New bosses
- Karma system
- Map-to-map travel feature
- Bipods and weapon mounting
- Gear Rack for the Hideout
- Cultist Circle for the Hideout
- Improved AI reactions and behavior
- IWI UZI, Desert Eagle, and M60 weapons
- Updates for the AS VAL, VSS Vintorez, PP-91, and PP-9 weapons
- Various new weapon attachments
This is just a shortlist, of course, but it should give you an idea of what to expect. It’s very exciting, especially if you keep in mind that SPT modders are now getting more new gameplay systems and features to customize and rebuild than ever before. The downside, however, is that build 3.10 will necessitate mod updates across the board, so we’ll be losing all of SPT’s awesome community-made content mods for a little while. Remember, too, that you cannot transfer your 3.9 profile over to 3.10 without rebuilding it from the ground up, as the versions historically haven’t been compatible with one another.
But hey, if you want something Tarkov-adjacent but don’t want to wait until November 26, might I direct you towards Sulfur? This awesome gun-customizing, goblin-killing roguelite FPS is one of the best early-access titles on the market right now, and I find myself coming back to it over and over again even a few dozen hours into it. You can thank me later.
