The Brighter Shores saga starts out as a free-to-play game until you eventually come across its premium features. If you’re on the fence about it, we’re here to explain if buying the Premium Pass is worth it, including details on perks and prices.

Is the Brighter Shores Premium Pass worth it?
The first thing you should do to help solidify your decision is to simply play the game. Fortunately, the early stages are free to access, giving you a better idea of what Brighter Shores has to offer. If you still want to play more after you’ve done all you can in Hopeport and Hopeforest, buying the Premium Pass is definitely worth it. You’ll gain access to more areas with the premium bundle, providing you with many more quests and professions.
I suggest seeing how far you can get with Brighter Shores Early Access storyline, then make your choice once you’re locked out of content. But now, the question remains: How much does the Premium Pass cost?
All Brighter Shores Premium Pass costs
Brighter Shores offers four tiers with the following subscriptions:
- Free: $0 (limited amount of content)
- Subscription: $5.99 every 30 days
- 90-Day Pass: $23.99 one-time purchase
- 365-Day Pass: $74.99 one-time purchase
If you’re still unsure about the purchase, the $5.99 a month lower tier is a good starting point. You can cancel at any time and then consider the higher tiers if you’re enjoying the game. It’s important to note that the prices listed above are fixed for the Early Access period, but Fen Research has indicated that it may increase as more episodes are added.
All Brighter Shores Premium Pass Perks
The Brighter Shores Premium Pass comes with these perks:
- Access to Hopeport (included with Free tier)
- Access to Hopeforest (included with Free tier)
- Access to Mine of Mantuban
- Access to Crenopolis
- Create a unique character name without a # suffix
- Exclusive armor dyes (when you reach Crenopolis)
- Change your name (when you reach Crenopolis)
- Player-to-player trading (when you reach Crenopolis)
The Mine of Mantuban allows you to take on the Miner, Minefighter, and Blacksmith professions. Crenopolis also provides more career opportunities, including Detective, Leatherworker, Merchant, and Watchperson. Initially, you’ll begin with professions like Alchemist, Forager, Fisherman/Fisherwoman, Chef, and Guard. These careers will be a part of the Free tier, which can help you understand the game’s Profession system.
Crenopolic harnesses many other features, specifically with the name change system. If this all sounds like something that interests you, it should certainly give you more than enough reason to get the Premium Pass. But, of course, you can always stick with the free path to save some money in your pocket. It should also be noted that player-to-player trading has yet to be accessible in-game. According to the Brighter Shores Premium Pass description, this mechanic will be “coming soon” for these particular users.
