Whether you’re playing at Liberty Falls or Terminus, your core objective is simple – survive the waves of zombies and complete as many rounds as possible. The victory condition is to clear a wave and exfil successfully by calling in your evac chopper. Now, you can’t just call the helicopter at any time, and even if it’s available, you can’t just reach the evac point and escape. A critical decision is to know when you should exfil to get out safely in Black Ops 6 Zombies mode.

Before I explain my thoughts, it’s important to understand that there’s no ‘meta’ or ‘optimum’ time to decide when to file. It will vary from one game to another and depend on multiple factors. After spending over 20 hours killing the undead with friends and strangers alike, here’s what I feel can be used as a good indicator to decide when to escape.

  • Wave 11: This is the earliest you can call in the exfil chopper to help you get out. It’s too early in my books, but pick it if you’re playing in a 3-man squad or less and have no Wonder Weapons.
  • Wave 16: If you choose not to exfil after Wave 11, it will take some time for the chopper to arrive again. Once you complete Wave 15 or 16, make sure to escape if neither you nor your teammates have found a Wonder Weapon. Going for a successful evac at this stage will also help you get Whimsical GobbleGums and other bonus rewards.
  • Wave 20: If you’re playing in a well-coordinated group and have unlocked the Pack-A-Punch 2 upgrades on your weapons, surviving till wave 20 won’t be a problem at all. But things can worsen quickly in zombieland, so exfil is a good choice.
  • Wave 25: I have managed to go this deep only once with random strangers, and you’ll need to find Wonder Weapon. It’s advisable that at least two out of four have a Wonder Weapon, and they should also have Pack-A-Punch upgrades. That said, you’ll want to ensure that at least three people survive, or getting on the chopper will be really difficult.

From my understanding, the zombies, any round beyond wave 25, will be filled with elite enemies. Both the Manglers and Amalgams will do tons of damage, and they can even two-shot you on certain occasions. Only approach these rounds if you’re communicating with your squad and have the necessary firepower.
