How to make Ambrosia in The Sims 4

As The Sims 4 goes on, it seems like more dishes for your Sims to cook up are added all the time. Delicious desserts, yummy soups, and more are at your disposal to keep your Sims fed and happy.

One dish, though, is special. Not only does it look delicious, but this meal can bring any deceased Sim back to life. If you need help making it, we’re here to show you all the ingredients to whip it up.

All ingredients needed for Ambrosia in Sims 4

You’ll need three different ingredients to make Ambrosia, as well as being level ten in both the cooking and gourmet cooking skills:

• Death Flower
• Potion of Youth 
• Angelfish

Once you have all three and have reached the maximum skill levels for both cooking and gourmet cooking, you can go to any fridge or stove and choose Ambrosia. Be aware that if you haven’t reached the max level for both skills, it will not appear at all when you choose to cook.

Death Flower

A Death Flower can be made by grafting an Orchid and a Pomegranate together. You’ll need to be level five in the gardening skill to unlock grafting, so ensure you’ve reached this level first. 

Orchids can be made by grafting a Lily and a Snapdragon together, and a Pomegranate can be made by grafting an Apple with a Cherry. Once you have cuttings of Orchid and Pomegranate, graft them together, and you’ll get a Death Flower in your Sim’s inventory.

Potion of Youth

The Potion of Youth can be bought as a Satisfaction Reward in the store. It will cost you 1,500 Satisfaction Points. You can earn more points by completing whims your Sims have and by completing levels of your Sim’s aspiration. 

It won’t take too long to get to 1,500 points, as most whims are pretty simple. You’ll likely earn enough points just by keeping your Sim fed and happy and while collecting the other ingredients and getting to the correct skill levels.

Angelfish

Angelfish can be caught in any body of water, so long as you’ve reached level three in the fishing skill. Without this skill at the right level, you simply can’t catch them.

How to level the Cooking and Gourmet Cooking skills fast

The largest hurdle for making Ambrosia is leveling up your skills enough to unlock the recipe. However, both skills can be leveled up fast by cooking meals and snacks in your kitchen.

Your Sim’s cooking skill will need to be at level five to unlock gourmet cooking, and then you can choose to cook gourmet dishes at any stove or fridge. Cook every meal your Sim eats to level it up faster.

In a Sim’s spare time, you can also purchase the skill books for both cooking and gourmet cooking so they can gain experience even if they aren’t hungry. You can find these books on any bookshelf by searching for skill books, and both will appear on the list. They have three volumes each. 

Once you’ve finally had your Sim reach level ten in both skills, Ambrosia will appear when you choose to cook a gourmet dish. And it’s free to make! So long as you have all the ingredients, you’re good to whip it up.

How to revive Sims with Ambrosia in Sims 4

Ambrosia can be eaten like all other food, but to get the most use out of it, you’ll want to use it to bring a Sim back to life. All you need to do is have a Sim’s ghost eat the dish, and by the power of food, they’ll be brought back to life exactly as they were. 

Ambrosia can also be used on your Sim’s beloved pets if you have the Cats & Dogs or Horse Ranch expansion if you want to bring their furry companions back to life. Place a dish of it on the floor, and any ghost cat or dog that eats it will also be brought back to life. You can also make it into a horse or pet treat.

You can also store Ambrosia in the fridge, like any other dish. This is a great backup if you want your Sims to be immortal or if they died before they were supposed to. 

While it takes a lot of work to get, Ambrosia is one of the most valuable resources in the game. However, if you’re not in the mood to do all that work, you can just cheat. In the gallery, look up Ambrosia and there will be tons of premade rooms containing the dish. Place it and use it all you want.
