How to find the Red Key in Dress to Impress: Lana Lore Quest

A new Dress to Impress character, Lana, is on a mission to run away from home, and it’s up to you to help her. Before collecting all six items, you’ll need various keys to open locked doors. Let’s check out where to find the red key to unlock the basement.

Red Key (Journal) location in Dress to Impress

The Red Key is inside a saucepan in the kitchen. Once you enter Lana’s childhood house, you’ll spot the kitchen straight in front of you, with this specific key to the left of the back door.

However, you’ll also find a two-headed monster in the same area. Upon approaching it, it’ll immediately start following you, inflicting a half-heart of damage and kicking you out of the house. Reaching zero hearts will fail the quest, returning you to the lobby and requiring you to restart. Avoid this monster at all costs!

If you struggle to escape the monster, draw it near the house’s front entrance or to the living room that holds the green key before leaving and using the back door connected to the kitchen. You can reach this door by circling around the building, giving you direct access to the Red Key. Once you spot the key, hold your interact button to pick it up, allowing you to use it and pick up one of Lana’s items.

Where to use the Red Key in Dress to Impress

The Red Key unlocks the basement outside of Lana’s childhood house. Rather than finding this location inside, you’ll have to leave and go outside. If you exit through the front door, turn right until you spot a set of doors leading underground.

Once you open the hatch, you’ll spot a door with a red lock, which you can unlock using your red key. The room you enter will mostly have old crates and shelves, with Lana’s journal hiding to your right. Go to the cupboard near the wall to spot the journal on the floor before picking it up and returning it to her bedroom.

Although the red key is only one of six you need for Lana’s quests in Dress to Impress, it’s one of the more challenging ones to find, especially since the monster immediately blocks your path to it. Fortunately, grabbing it is the hard part, so you won’t have to worry too much until you reach the story’s second chapter.
