To be sure you’re using baits the proper way, make sure to read their stats and fish preferences. Here’s what the bait stats mean:
- Lure: Affects the time you need to hook a fish.
- Universal Luck: Increases the chance of catching all fish (same as the Luck stat on rods).
- Preferred Luck: Increases the chance of catching specific fish.
- Resilience: Affects how fast the fish moves around during the mini-game.
Note that some fish prefer bait that only has Universal Luck. In those cases, the Preferred Luck bonus will be equal to Universal Luck * 2.
Best Baits to Use in Fisch

Where to Find All Baits in Fisch
To get baits, you must open various bait crates and geodes (Quality Bait Crate, Bait Crate, Volcanic Geode, etc.). Each crate/geode will give you about 3-6 baits of random rarity, and you can get those by fishing, completing quests, or buying them at merchants and the Traveling Merchant. To get baits for free in the early game, complete quests on Moosewood Island and Snowcap Island.
