If you’re a big fan of digging into the details of Destiny 2 updates, you’ll know that this update secretly added three different exotic armors for you to earn. There’s one for each class and enhances an aspect of each Stasis build. That’s quite convenient for a Stasis-focused season.
For the Hunter mains out there, this exotic helps enhance your Withering Blades quite a bit. Here’s how to get the Mask of Fealty exotic helmet in Destiny 2.
Where to get the Mask of Fealty in Destiny 2
To get the Mask of Fealty, you’ll need to go through Master Rahool’s Focused Decoding system. Master Rahool can be found by heading to the Tower and turning right. From there, you should see him standing in his tent, ready to be spoken to. From here, open his Engram Focusing menu (found through the image of an Exotic Engram) and go two pages to the right. Here, you can purchase whatever piece of exotic armor you want with one Exotic Cipher and one Exotic Engram. Exotic Engrams are most easily earned as a drop for completing three, six, and nine strikes each week. Otherwise, you’ll need to claim and complete the Xenology quest from Xur each week to get one Exotic Cipher.
If the option for the Mask of Fealty is greyed out, you’ll need to get Master Rahool’s reputation to level 16 and rank him up. This resets every episode, so if you did it back in Episode: Echoes for example, you’ll need to do it again for Episode: Revenant. Thankfully, you’ll snag some other sweet rewards along the way.
Is the Mask of Fealty worth using?
The Mask of Fealty’s exotic perk, Null Factor, causes your Withering Blade hits to bounce and create a Stasis crystal at the target’s location while refunding a portion of your melee energy. Using Withering Blade to shatter stasis crystals or frozen targets will release a spread of Withering Blades. This has some serious potential through creating chain reactions of Withering Blades but requires a build that revolves around Stasis crystals or frozen targets to get the full effectiveness. If you have something like that, however, this works wonders.
However, it should be noted that until a planned patch at the end of October, the Stasis crystal shattering aspect of this perk will not function as intended. Frozen targets will still trigger the spread of Withering Blades, however.
