The Champions mode is the most competitive place in EA FC 25‘s Ultimate Team, and it will truly test your skills and abilities.
Having players who play well according to the game’s meta is critical – they won’t magically turn you into an invincible gamer, but you’ll undoubtedly have a competitive advantage over the rest. Most meta players are expensive, and the likes of Kylian Mbappe are out of reach of most players. However, some meta beasts can be acquired pretty cheaply from the market. They might not have high overall ratings, but some of them can pack a punch on the field.
Best cheap meta cards for EA FC 25 Weekend League (Week 1)
I have tried to make a list of cards that don’t cost a lot of coins to acquire. However, you’ll still need to have a decent balance to get some of these items. The list will also be a work in progress: as new cards come to the Ultimate Team, they’ll replace some of the items mentioned here.
Player | Average price | Reason to use |
---|---|---|
Viktor Gyokeres | 1,500 coins | One of the best starter forwards to use in Ultimate Team. Also provides league chemistry with RTTK Otamendi in case you have completed the objective. |
Christopher Nkunku | 10,000 coins | The Chelsea attacker can play in two different positions, and offers three different role+. Additionally, he also forms chemistry links with cards from Premier League, and France. |
Enzo Fernandez | 650 coins | You’ll need to put him into the From Box-to-Box evolution to get him the upgrades. While his 71 Pace is tad slow, he’s a great fit as a box-to-box midfielder. |
Moussa Diaby | 5,000 coins | Similar to Diaby, Coman is explosive and features the Rapid+ playstyle. Unlike Diaby, Coman is easier to fit in a squad, thanks to his Bundesliga and Bayern Munich links. The only demerit for me is his limited role+, but you can’t complain at this price. |
Marcos Llorente | 8,000 coins | You can play him anywhere on the right side of the field, and he will do a decent job. Llorente is a staple of almost every LaLiga-based squad. He’s a potential candidate for a few upcoming evolutions as well. |
Kingsley Coman | 2,600 coins | If you don’t have the budget for Ibrahima Konate, Upamecano is certainly a budget replacement. He could also help you to increase squad chemistry if you have other French cards like Coman and Diaby. |
Dayot Upamecano | 5,000 coins | A great fit if you are looking for a cheap defender with great ball recovery and defensive skills. |
John Stones | 3,100 coins | A great fit if you are looking for cheap defender with great ball recovery and defensive skills. |
Declan Rice | 10,000 coins | There aren’t too many options under 10,000 coins when it comes to someone who excels in the Holding role. Rice is a perfect fit in that regard, and you can put him in any Premier League-based squad. |
Pedri | 8,500 coins | An affordable midfield option for starter LaLiga squads. His Incisive Pass playstyle+ can come in good to unlock strong defenses. |
On this list, you won’t find any cards that are extremely expensive. At the start of EA FC 25, not many players are going to have bucket loads of coins to spend. If you’ve a bigger budget, you can always opt for upgrades as required based on your squads.
