How to complete Flow of Battle at the Slumber Dojo in Zelda Echoes of Wisdom

Go against the flow

Some challenges at the Slumber Dojo in Zelda: Echoes of Legend are more challenging than others, and Flow of Battle is a particular nuisance. If you’re not a fan of tidal rooms in the game, then boy, have I got bad news for you.

The Slumber Dojo can be found in Kakariko Village, which is northwest of Hyrule Castle Town and south of Eldin Volcano. Of the 14 challenges you can undertake, Flow of Battle is the third.

Thankfully, you have access to all of your Echoes during this battle, as well as Swordfighter Form, but not the ability to use Potions or Smoothies to increase your health if it gets low.

Time limit: 90 seconds

Additional rules: No potions or smoothies allowed

Rewards:

  • 5 Bubble Kelp (clear within 90 seconds)
  • + 5 Riverhorse (clear within 70 seconds)

The one thing you need to remember when taking on Flow of Battle is to be quick on your feet. If you fall into the water, you’ll lose time not only to being pushed back but because there is a second where you cannot jump back out. You’ll want to stay on the floating platforms to get this done quickly.

If you have a lot of energy available and have unlocked the Bow of Might in the Gerudo Sanctum, you can take out all of the Monsters from a distance and speed things up. If you lack energy or haven’t got the Bow of Might yet, there’s another way.

The monsters you’ll have to take down to complete Flow of Battle are:

  • 3 Deku Babas
  • 2 Strandtulas
  • 2 Sea Urchins

The first thing you’ll need to do is pick a side, as there are different challenges on both sides.

Left side

The right side is home to three Deku Babas. You’ll want to hop right up to the top, using the platforms to keep you afloat, and then use your Bind ability to latch onto the Deku Baba on the back wall. Allow the current to drag you backward, and you’ll pull it off the wall, killing it instantly.

Do the same for the other two Deku Babas on this side, and then move on to the left side. Don’t worry if you get dragged over the edge by the current. Other than losing time, this isn’t too much of a problem.

Right side

The left side is home to the two Strandtulas and the two Sea Urchins. You’ll want to take out the Strandulas first, as you can then use their webs to quickly move above the water. To do this, summon an aerial Echo such as Guay or Albatrawl and allow it to attack the Strandtulas.

When that’s done, or while it’s happening, you can focus on the Sea Urchins. These are easy to take out, as you simply need to summon your own Sea Urchin directly on top of them to kill them.

When you’ve completed both sides of the challenge, you’ll be able to wake up and gain your rewards. This one might take you a few attempts but don’t lose heart. Practice makes perfect!
